| If you have just a short time to spend in Bangkok, the Royal Orchid is an excellent choice for a hotel. All of the rooms have good views of the Chao Phraya River, a remarkably busy thoroughfare filled with exotic looking commercial watercraft. The river transit system has a stop less than 100 yards from the hotel - a great way to get to many of Bangkok's best tourist sites without fighting the horrible traffic. Hotel staff is very professional and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river is hard to beat.

| I stay in a lot of hotels, and the Royal Orchid Sheraton is one of my very favorites. It has impeccably trained staff, five star service, and commitment to maintenance. The rooms are regularly refurbished and designed for comfort. The beds are extremely comfortable the air conditioning is cold and quiet, there is good water pressure, your laundry comes back intact... all those important little things. The Royal Orchid is located on the river, and the rooms are situated so that most rooms have a magnificent view, day or night. The hotel is located on a quiet side street, and shares expansive gardens with the Portuguese Embassy. If you have time, the pools are made for lounging and reading as well as swimming. Great Thai and Italian restaurants -- Royal Orchid is great base for business or touring.

| Good location to visit the wats. Chao Phraya river access for a river tour. Breakfast patio nice in the morning. Service was good.
