| I did not know what to expect with a hotel off of a major highway....it was basic but very clean. Staff was friendly as I checked in around midnight and my DSL connection worked on the first try!

| . . .but the hospitality at the front desk was not the best. Both on the phone and upon arrival, the receptionist at the front desk was preoccupied with anyone but her guests. As she checked us in, she was vigorously carrying on a conversation with another individual and seemed to be bothered by the interruption of our check-in.

| We (2 adults, 2 young kids) stayed here for a night to break up a 12 hour trip down I-95. It was clean, modern, and comfortable. The front desk and maid staff were friendly and helpful. The free morning breakfast was perfect for us - cereals, french toast, bagels, juices, etc. There are also lots of stores and restaurants very close by on the main street. I think many of the people who stay here are business people on trips to the research triangle area, but it was very nice for us as a family for one night. The only drawback for the kids is that the pool is only outdoors, so during the winter (when we went) the kids would not be able to swim (the main highlight wherever we stay in a hotel, regardless of where we are); however, this was not an issue because we were literally just stopping over on the way to our real destination down south. I found the hotel by looking at the ratings on tripadvisor.com, and I have to agree with those travelers - this wingate inn was a great place to stay.
