| Smart hotel in a very good location-underground 1 min away & 2 stops from mainline rail. Rooms rather small but pleasant. Outstanding basement bar with 'home made' chocolates. Near many very good restaurants & shops.

| Located right beside subway entrance, right around corner from main shopping row. I had an inexpensive small single room, but it had a widescreen TV and a mini-fridge. I wasn't expecting as much from the room given the price.

| I had a single room. I was truly a single for only 1 person. The price was great!! Great location subway stop infront of hotel. Serveral places to eat and shop. There is a CitiBank location 2 blocks- your ATM card will work there. Staff were very nice and helpful. English was at times a little difficult but they were willing to help in every way. The bathroom was a bit small but nice. The only drawback was the Television. I thought cable would be like my friends home in Tokyo- a few English speaking stations, it's not only JAPANESE. Bring a portable DVD player. To purchase the in room movies with English dubs were $10 per movie. I would stay here again. Bring your English/Japanese dictionary.

| The hotel is reasonably adequate, although like most hotels in Japan outside of the very top tier, rooms are small and poorly appointed by international standards. Service on the part of the staff is generally excellent, with the front desk staff fully fluent in English and a number of other languages, as well. One point of dissatisfaction: the hotel infrastructure is old, and cannot switch automatically between heat and cooling. As such, the room was unbearably hot, and the only alternative was to put up with open windows and traffic noise. All-in-all, not a bad option for people not wanting to spend too much money on a hotel room in Japan.

| This is a fine hotel, there were 2 free internet PCs in the lobby, we received great service, the hotel is in a good centralized location in the city and very close to a subway (Shijo station, south exit) and also close to the city sightseeing bus stop. Bathrooms are on the small size but appropriate to the hotel rating.

| The hotel is centrally located in Kyoto with easy access to the subway. The rooms are good sized with the only drawback being that the bathroom is very limited in space.
