What to expect: Popular with honeymooners, the resort attracts an international clientele of adult couples and families desiring a small, tranquil, beachfront hotel with spacious suites and discreet service. A breezy, marble-floor lobby contains a peaked bleached-wood ceiling, burbling fountain, and plush royal-purple seating. Amenity highlights: An expansive lagoon pool contains a round, swim-up bar under a wood-shingle roof at one end and a round rock-garden island at the other. Two shallow children's sections, one with fountains, connect to the pool. The surrounding marble sundeck features padded lounge chairs and pink umbrellas and includes a wood-plank section with dining tables and hammock shaded by palms. The sea laps a half-mile of light-colored beach furnished with thatch shades. Insider tip: This resort's guests enjoy access to facilities and restaurant signing privileges at two companion properties sharing Reduit Beach. The Rex St. Lucian (adjacent) includes a beauty salon in a small shopping plaza. The Rex Papillion St. Lucia farther along the beach includes a kids' club where Royal St. Lucian guests can leave children for day/night sessions without charge.

| The island and the hotel were beautiful. Be sure to know when you visit, St. Lucia is very green, tropical and mountainous and not all beaches or you will be disappointed. The hotel suites are very roomy and comfortable and the staff that keeps the suites maintained does a very good job. The front desk, concierge and bar staff service is less than desirable. The front desk and concierge staff are very haughty and not helpful. The bar staff is extremely slow. As an international traveler, this hotel service was not very good compared to others. However, this may be the island way. We didn't receive fast service anywhere.

| We enjoyed our stay and would go back. Nice hotel, well maintained, good service, nice pool. The beach has readily-available palapas and drink/food service with a large menu. The fine dining restaurant has great service and food -- it's pricey but offers a nice, romantic experience. It was the best-looking hotel on the long beach. Best thing -- it's within easy walking distance to several nice restaurants and bars/clubs, and the walk seemed quite safe with many people out until late. Tip: Don't bother traveling to Castries -- it's a run-down city without very good shopping. The view from the Green Parot restaurant on the hill behind town is fantastic but the food isn't very good and the taxi ride is a little scary (steep dropoffs).

| This hotel is a 5 star rated hotel. It was that and more. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very accomodating. I plan on revisiting this hotel on my next visit to St. Lucia. I am sure anyone who stays at this hotel won't be disappointed.

| I spent a week at the Royal; my son and his bride were at another local resort. I found the Royal to be elegant and of the upmost quality. The staff was helpful; taxis were available within minutes; local restaurants were in walking distance and the beachfront was breathtaking. Tho' not "all inclusive", we found the Royal to be a better value and the rooms larger , more elegant than our fellow travelers'. The outdoor food/beverage service was a bit sluggish; but everything else was top notch. The hotel restaurant was excellent.

| After arriving at Hewanorra Airport, we opted for a helicopter ride to the hotel instead of taking the long trek via the public bus service. The Helicopter ride was quite enjoyable and a great way to see the island. We discovered a taxi ride between the airport and hotel could be as interesting and offer great sight seeing all the way. Upon arrival at the Hotel we were greeted with warm , rose scented wash cloths and our first of many rum punches we would enjoy while on the island. The open air lobby was beautifully decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, and the entire staff was very friendly and informative. Our room was very spacious with a sitting area, bedroom, a large balcony, and the bathroom was very large with his and hers sinks and a nice shower and a separate bath. Every night the hotel staff provided turn down service which included fresh flower petals on the bed every night. We did have a few minor issues with our room that the staff was quick to rectify once we notified them of the problems. Along with the rooms the grounds were immaculately maintained and clean. The pool with the swim up bar, which we visited each afternoon, had the best bartenders on the island I am sure! With the beach front right next to the hotel it was very convenient, quiet and fun. The wait staff frequently walked the beach cabanas to see if we needed lunch or drinks delivered to us.

| We enjoyed our hotel stay at the Royal Rex very much. We were glad that we had selected this Rex property. It was more expensive, but definitely worth the money. After going to quite a few all inclusive resorts, we were also happy with our choice. It was not as nice as some of the other resorts, but there were quite a few restaurants in walking distance and we enjoyed the flexibility of choosing where we wanted to eat. It was also much cheaper this way. We rented a car while on the island. Driving was definitely a challenge, but worth it to see the interior of the island. We would defintely recommend the Rex by Royal if you want a hotel that is not all inclusive.

| The Royal St. Lucian was the best decision that we made for our trip. It was incredible! The staff and concierge were right there for any questions or additional information that you needed. We visited on our honeymoon and the room was just as described and hotel and beach were kept in excellent condition and our service was beyond excellent. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Restaurants on premise were awesome and the nearby places were also nice. We ate dinner at both restaurants on premise and the food and service was great. We can't wait to return and will definately stay at the Royal by Rex again!

| Hotel has a good location on the beach with huts available. Seems that once upon the time, this was a luxury hotel, considering that every room is a suite and just the overal design of the building. But, time left its trace on the furniture, walls and floors. If this was a new hotel it would probably be higher than 4, but now, I would rate it as a 3.5. My wife and I spent 10 days there and never used the pool. Who needs a pool when you have such a beautiful beach.
