| The hotel and mangement are all very good. However, this hotel is in the "Tenderloin" district. Drug sales and use, prostitution, homelessness, public drunkenness are all found very close to this hotel. I didn't feel okay walking there at night with my 17 year old daughter.

| Have you heard of "Customers are always right?"...well a concierge of this hotel obviously hasn't. She does not have faith in the honesty of her customers. We weren't happy with the non-smoking room that we requested. It was a non-smoking room, but it sure didn't smell like it. The bathroom was dirty. Staff there should put on a smile...that adds to the comfort of their customers.

| This is a great hotel for going to either the Fillmore or the Great American Music Hall. Be it old, it is maintained well and the service is fantastic.

| While this hotel is o.k. on the inside, it's located in a pretty shady part of town. What the SF Police refer to as "crack corner" is only a few blocks away. To top that, the hotel desk clerks were extremely rude and the cleaning service barged right into our room without knocking. This was on the first of two nights. The room was also incredibly hot and muggy the entire time.

| The hotel looks newly remodelled on the outside, but the rooms are dingy and old feeling. It is also in a terrible neighborhood.
