The San Carlos was a delightful surprise for this frequent traveler to NYC and former mid-town resident. The staff were incredibly helpful, NO EXCEPTIONS. As a business traveler I really appreciated the no hassle business center. Expect to pay hundreds more per night for a hotel with comparable quality and convenience.

This hotel is close to many tourist attractions as well as several subway stations. Front desk staff addressed us by name every time they saw us making the stay very personal. We were very impressed by that. We were not disappointed with any of the restaurants recommended by hotel staff.

Very clean modern hotel in a great location - away from the crowds and noise but close enough to walk to Broadway, Central park etc.. Excellent bedding, cosmetic mirror in the bathroom, beds ready for sleeping with chocolate for the night... Very pleasing experience.

The suite was large and comfortable. Service was excellent. Being on the east side it was a little bit of a walk to the theater district (considering it was raining most of the days we were there).

Great value and very spacious by New York standards. I liked having a microwave and mini-fridge in the room. It was also nice to have real plates and coffee cups, rather than plastic.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is clean, well maintained and easily accessible to the subway and all attractions in midtown. We even walked home from the theatre. St Patrick cathedral is just about 2 blks away. I especially liked having coffee and a fridge in my room.

I was hesitant about this hotel because I usually stay at chain hotels but this was a very spacious 1 bedroom hotel with a mini kitchenette and was very clean. I would strongly recomend it especially if you're traveling with a family
