| Oak Island Resort is a lovely place to honeymoon as long as your room is one that's been renovated. Unfortunately, our first night they put us in an unrenovated rm w/ no a/c, horrible bathroom, springs popping through mattress, etc. The next morning they were accommodating and moved us to a rm w/ a fabulous view of the marina and bay. Rm service was excellent and chef's meals were fabulous. The location is close to quaint villages w/ great shopping and restaurants (Mahone Bay was our favorite). Highly recommend.
