| Not a lot of parking space. The room was tiny. There were stains on the carpet. The air conditioning vent was falling out of the wall.

| It's dark and dirty and smells bad in the hall ways. The room was barely okay - the discription of luxery lines is a stretch as they was 100 ct muslin and holes in the blanket. The tub had a big chip out of the porcelin and the tolitries were 5&10. The worst part was no off street parking. We won't go back.

| Keep in mind this is an old hotel, but perfectly adequate for our needs. Under the circumstances in NOLA today (recovery!) the straff is doing an admirable job. Staff was very polite and available 24/7 -- they were attentive and responsive to our needs. We feel for the frustrations of businesses in New Orleans. The Pontchartrain and others like them are doing admirably considering the special challenges in the city these days. Best of luck to them and NOLA as they continue to get back on their feet and rebuild their city!

| Its obvious from the decor that this was once a Grand Hotel but its time has come and gone. The rooms are smaller than they appear in the photos and not very comfortable. The sheets on the bed had those little fuzz balls on them. There is NO maid service. No off street parking (not even for check-in). I expected a bit more from a St. Charles address.

| We've stayed at the Pontchartrain Hotel a number of times when visiting our daughter. The location is great and the hotel has an intimate charm. The carpet throughout needs replacing as this gives the hotel a shabby look which is not evident elsewhere. The restaurant serves very good breakfasts and the staff is pleasant.

| Pontchartrain Hotel has seen a lot of history and it shows, but the staff goes out of their way to provide 4 star service! The restuarant has good food, Starbucks coffee, and a neat piano bar. Best little feature in this historic hotel - modern WiFi connections.

| This hotel has a convenient location thanks to the Trolley. You are in the Garden District with the Trolley stops just steps from the front door. The Trolley will take you to Bourbon Street and downtown in one direction and the zoo in the other direction. There is a good cafe in the hotel and other fine restaraunts within walking distance. A good value in an older, quiet hotel.

| The Pontchartrain Hotel is a lovely southern style hotel located in the Garden District on St. Charles Ave. Our Queen room was small, but nicely appointed. This hotel has a great location for those who want a taste of Bourbon Street, but don't want to experience it while trying to sleep.Be aware, many hotels near the French Quarter can be noisy after midnight with people coming and going!Parking is also very difficult. Since this hotel is located on St. Charles Ave, the streetcar is an excellent means of site seeing. Passes can be purchased at the Williams grocery a block away. Many restaurants can be reached by walking or using the streetcar. Emerils, La Madeleine, Commander's Palace, Bravo and the Trolley Stop are located nearby. Tulane and Loyola Universities are an easy streetcar ride! Transfer to the Canal Street line for a trip to City Park, cemetaries, and the Riverwalk.
