| Hotel was an excellent location and had great personnel. The photos on Expedia were far nicer than the reality. Rooms were ok but not deluxe or boutique quality. Breakfast was limited to coffee, tea, pasteries. Being in the center of Old Oakland was great with lots going on. Parking available at the convention center across the street. The Washington Inn was okay for the price but not special.

| This is a smaller hotel in an older building, but I was very impressed with how the hotel was decorated. No generic-hotel bedsheets here! The room was very attractive, and the hotel staff were exceedingly helpful. A good experience all around.

| The hotel staff was minimal and not professional at all. The hotel was deserted, yes they have a bar but no one to work it. The continental breakfast was bad fast food. The public bathroom had two toilets that didn't function at all and it was filthy. The bathroom did not have a mirror and there was no place to set anything down. I could not recommend this place to anyone.

| this was directly across from the convention center and walking distance from a great mexican restaurant, a vegan global restaurant, and numerous coffee shops, among about a dozen other restaurants. the hotel was in great shape and there was a very personable bartender in the lobby. the workout room was basic, but fine.

| I only needed a place for one night between meetings. Room was smaller than I had expected. Parking a little difficult. Hotel on one way street which you access past hotel and need to turn away from hotel. When I called hotel for directions, they told me "space open in front of hotel. Just turn left and drive in reverse to hotel". Hot water faucet in shower didn't turn. So, took a cold shower.

| Great price with a central downtown location close to restaurants. Attractive interior lobby, but needs upgrading, as do the rooms and common areas. A bit of a European feel, with sinks in the bedroom.

| We stayed at the Washington Inn after our wedding reception in Oakland Chinatown. It was a quick walk from the restaurant, and the room was gorgeous. The front desk was very helpful. The renovation of the lobby and rooms is beautiful. The elevator has original metal latticework. Our King Suite had a spacious living area. The happy hour looked great also!

| If you're looking for a small, charming, romantic hotel in the heart of downtown Oakland - give the Washington Inn a shot. It's within 1 block of some great restaurants & bars (everything from the Pacific Brewing Company & Jesso's, to Le Chevel & Breads of India). Plus, you can catch BART right around the corner and go straight into SF for more fun. Small drawbacks include NO hotel parking (street and garage about 2 blocks away), no room service, 'city size' rooms (get a suite!) and although there is a lovely bar/lounge area in the bar - it closes by 830 or 9p. However, the friendly, helpful staff and the fact that this hotel is very reasonably priced make up for any shortcomings.
