Features
What to expect: In contrast to busy Syntagma Square outside, the hotel lobby is ordered and peaceful, with pine floors, Persian carpets, and burgundy box sofas and armchairs arranged around coffee tables. Built in 1980, this nine-story hotel is smart and functional, and popular with businesspeople, politicians, tourists, and occasional international celebrities. Amenity highlights: Business facilities include a 24-hour business center, three fully equipped conference rooms and several smaller meeting rooms. The Parliament restaurant is ideal for business dining, while the Plaza Lounge is popular with hotel guests and non-residents alike. Insider tip: A short taxi ride from the hotel, a funicular runs up to the summit of Lycabettus Hill, crowned by the tiny whitewashed church of St George. The highest vantage point in town, it affords panoramic views. Close by, an open-air theater hosts summer concerts.
Parliament restaurant - Occupying a long narrow space with floor-to-ceiling glazing and Venetian blinds down one side, this restaurant has mahogany chairs with green upholstery and spotless white linen tablecloths. Thanks to its low-key atmosphere, this restaurant is particularly popular with businesspeople. It is open for breakfast (surcharge), lunch, and dinner. The signature dish is Fillets of Dover Sole Meunier with Mushroom and Lemon Cream Sauce. Explorer's Lounge - Furnished with green leather armchairs and low coffee tables, plus a bar lined with high stools, this lounge is refined but relaxed. It is open all day for coffee, drinks, cocktails, and savory snacks. Plaza Lounge - Located on a mezzanine overlooking the lobby, this informal cafe is furnished with modern, understated wooden tables and chairs. It is open all day for coffee, tea, cakes, and pastries.

| This is a wonderful hotel. Centrally located to everything, great amenities, and very affordable. I stayed here based on other reviews and because I wanted a convenient place being that this was my first trip to Athens. I liked it so much, I extended my stay. This is an excellent place to stay for business travelers as well.

| Having booked my room at the NJV Athens Plaza on short notice, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Suffice it to say I was highly pleased. First, the location is truly a gem - while not often discussed, the plaza is an incredibly vibrant, large square full of cafes, flower and plant booths and overall energy. What's more, it's a convenient walk to the Acropolis area and public garden (both worth a visit), and very close to the Plaka area -- probably the nicest and most charming area I saw in my visit. Certainly agree that the NJV is not a 5-star, but with that in mind, it's a fine hotel. Staff was helpful and fine, room was clean and well-outfitted, and the grounds were very nice. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

| This was our third time in this hotel and we are always pleased with the service but the best thing is the location. Right on Syntagma Square, it is within easy walking distance to Plaka, and other tourist sites. This hotel is a very good value.

| This is a great hotel with an excellent location. My only complaint was that it seemed as if there were a charge for all extras. I needed the internet. It cost an extra $24 a day for that service. The 2 star I stayed at for the previous week and a half had free breakfast and free internet for less than half the cost of the 4 star. More stars, more cost even beyond the obvious.

| Excellent location, minutes to train and stations, Plaka and shopping. Walking distant to most historical sites. Request a room facing Sintagma Square. Then you will have amazing views of the Parliment and the Acropolis. The staff are all extremely nice and helpful. On sunday, you can watch switching of the guards at 10:30am from your balcony.
