I recently visited Aruba in August, and I stayed at Talk of the Town for 6 nights. I had read consistently positive reviews of this hotel, and while only 2 stars, it exceeded my expectations greatly. They have a very friendly staff (the bartender Dino is fantastic, and also a great source of information), and the courtyard and open-air bar are relaxing and inviting. We actually spent many hours hanging out at the bar at our hotel it was so enjoyable. The rooms are average, but they are clean and comfortable. There is a variety of TV channels, including BBC World. There is a nice, small, and relatively uncrowded beach right across the street. It was actually really nice being outside the city as it is quiter and more relaxing, however, a trip into town is only a ten minute walk, so you can walk into town for dinner/nightlife. All in all I would highly recommend Talk of the Town to anyone who wants to stay away from the typical tourist resorts.

I was very impressed with the staff. Our room was very clean and Hans, the manager, was friendly and helpful. I would deffiently reccomend Talk of the Town to anyone. It is on the outskirts of down town, therefore quiet. The pictures do not do it justice.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was helpful. Clean. Pool was very nice and very large. Kitchen supplies were limited to 2 glasses and 2 plates--no pans. Nice breakfast. Close to airport, but taxi costs $10. Outside of the main town, so taxi travel could be expensive.

This is an older hotel that has been very recently redone, but redone in a very positive way. They have done a very good job, including a very pleasant pool area. This is a budget hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and some amenities that you woulds have to pay for at the swankier hotels. These include a complimentary full, but limited breakfast in an open-air setting and a fridge, sink, stovetop, and well as a microwave in each room. It is between the airptrt and downtown, allowing ione to avoid the downtown crush-especially when a cruise ship is in town- which is all of the time, it seems. There are a couple of good restaurants within walking distance and it is a short ride to town, where the more interesting restaurants are. The hotel also has a good small bar and serves snack food there. Parking is also free, which is probably no big deal. There is access to a beach, crossing a busy street. This a public beach and park, allowing you to swim and mingle with the locals, which makes it even more fun, as the Arubans are enjoyable people.. If you want to stay on a budget, even in high season, this hotel should be considered.
