| I called ahead to ask the front desk if taxis were readily available or if I should rent a car. The woman I spoke with assured me that taxis were available and that they would order one. She also said she would make a note in my reservation and leave a message for the clerk for the next morning. When I arrived at almost midnight and checked in, the desk clerk not only knew I had made a special request (when she heard my name), she told me what time I needed to be in the lobby to meet the taxi. Being used to large chain hotels where information is not easily transferred, I re-checked with the front desk on my way to breakfast. Again, the clerk recognized my name and knew immediately I needed a cab for later that morning and assured me she had made the arrangements. The taxi arrived exactly on schedule. I was very pleased with the effeciency with which the various desk clerks transferred information about a guest request.
