Features
What to expect: The W does minimalism with rock-star attitude. The lobby has black-lacquer picnic tables, overstuffed couches, and leather ottomans. The absence of rollaway beds for guestrooms signals that this hotel is for adults, whether traveling on business or pleasure. The "Do Not Disturb" signs read "Leave Me Alone." Amenity highlights: The gym (personal training can be arranged) and a Caribbean-blue outdoor pool offer views of the surrounding hotels and casino. Three poolside, curtained cabanas feature TVs and wireless Internet access, and room service is available 24 hours daily. Guests also have access to the day spa located in the W's French Quarter hotel, 6 blocks away. Insider tip: Mother's, a favorite local restaurant specializing in Louisiana home cooking (gumbo, jambalaya), is across the street.
Zoe Bistrot - This stylish restaurant on the hotel's second floor serves fine French food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A typical meal opens with escargot and onion tarts and proceeds to quail salad and trout amandine. W Cafe - A breakfast bar by day and a full-service watering hole by night, this cafe is centrally located in the hotel's expansive lobby. Breakfast includes pastries, cereal, and juices. Whiskey Blue - Just off the hotel's entrance is this upscale local bar, where the mood lighting and designer-wardrobed staff make it feel like it's always 1 AM, no matter the hour.

| The W New Orleans was excellent, situated near the French Quarter (a few blocks walk)it is what you would expect from a boutique hotel. Hip, trendy with a cool vibe. Modern contempory rooms, cool bars, trendy restaurant and great service. New Orleans suffered greatly from Hurrican Katrina, but being there you would not have know anything had happened.

| great amenities, nice employees, but many things suffered bc they were trying so hard to live up to a cool, mod style rather than just focused on satisfying guests needs - but it did make you feel important to be saying at such a high class hotel PLUS room was not ready on time, and then when we did get our room we got 2 full beds instead of one king as we has requested

| I didn't know exactly what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. ALL of the staff was friendly, speaking to me everywhere I went in the hotel. Some even knew my name. When I entered the room, I found it bathed in techno music, which did get old after a while. I judge a room by the condition of the bathroom and it was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, but the sound-proofing of the room was lacking as I clearly overheard the amorous adventures of the couple next door - an experince I could have lived without. The one thing I hated was valet parking. I like to have control of my coming and going and without waiting for it and then feeling abliged to tip some guy for retrieving it. I will probably chose a hotel with parking if I rent a car next time.

| The room was great, plenty of space. It seemed like they were a biy understaffed but the service didn't suffer too much because of it. Good location, could walk to different districts. In general New Orleans still needs about a year to recover but we had a great relaxing time. My favorite thing was rthe plush KING size bed!!!

| Rooms a bit small but very, very comfortable. Excellent bedding, bath supplies, etc. Responsive housekeeping and front desk services. Workout facilities are a bit shop worn don't expect state of the art-odd for a facility that attracts so many young people. Avoid the restaurant at dinner-prices were outrageous, short staffed, and out of basic menu items early in the evening....

| The concierge and staff are truly helpful and ultra professional. Rooms are attractive and everything worked well. However, room service is rather pricey (esp. for breakfast, which cost $42 for fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee). Oh yes, the casino is directly adjacent to the hotel!

| Getting into this hotel is an experience in itself! As you walk in, there's a bed on the left and seemingly no way into the hotel until the sheer white drapes part and you're suddenly in the dark hotel lobby! Once in the lobby, the helpful staff attend to you behind a long, black desk. On the left is a doorway out into a small courtyard with white plastic sofas which are illuminated at night. Colored light balls are dotted in the hedges and there is a large white rectangular entrance, also illuminated out onto the main street. Back inside the W's expansive lobby, you'll find drapes made of yellow fabric flowers, a library, bar and chaise lounge with large gilt mirror behind! The hotel's color scheme is black and claret. In the comfortable rooms, you'll find the W's signature "Heavenly Bed" with claret comforter, gold chaise, large black table and entry ottoman, well stocked bar and accent wall painted black. The beds at the W are reason enough for me to keep coming back - I have never slept so well away from home. That, and the divine lemon & sage scented "Bliss" toiletries!

| Excellent location close to everything but at the same time away from craziness. Hipster club in hotel premises, the bar there is gorgeous. Rooms are a bit on the smaller side and closets are dinitely small but is an old New Orleans building remodeled so what can you expect. Overall the staff was A+, I would stay again. Reason why I chose is because it was the only hotel that offered a modern theme unlike most New Orleans that are a bbit to baroque for my Miamian taste.
