| For being an old building, I found the rooms fairly modern. I believe they were still in the process of renovating while we were there, but they did not get in the way. Our first room was very very small, but after a roof leak we were givin a slightly larger, but better laid out room. I felt that we paid for what we got, and that the hotel was clean and in a great location.

| When we arrived, the desk clerk was extremely helpful in recommendations, maps, and brochures about places to eat, drink, shop, and tour. Every clerk from then on were also very friendly and accommodating. It is a great location, right in the middle of the French Quarter, but yet still a quiet retreat where we could get a good nights sleep.

| Hotel was average. No elevator service. Overpriced because of location in the French Quarter. Uncomfortable beds.

| The Andrew Jackson hotel is one block from Bourbon Street and about 3 blocks from the heart of the French Quarter. Everything is within walking distance and the hotel is far enough off Bourbon to be quiet and peaceful. The room was very small for 4 people - I had requested two double beds on the reservation form, but we ended up with two twin beds. Otherwise, the hotel was fine for us during Jazzfest. There's a nice little courtyard out back, too.

| What looks like a charming French Quarter Hotel is really an old, old, old and run down place. The lobby is nice and the staff cooperative, but one you're into the court yard the charm wears off. To their credit they are painting and beginning renovation, but the walls show extreem wear, the carpets are thread bare and the bathroon was old, moldy and the shower head didn't even work properly. If the price is your first consideration, call and ask if the renovations are finished before you reserve a room.

| Great location on Royal Street. Always felt safe when walking back to room. Beautiful structure and lovely courtyard. The room was as I expected from a hotel of this age and this star rating. The Andrew Jackson disappointed me one time. I had left my cell phone on one of the street cars, and upon returning to the hotel, I asked the desk clerk, if I might use their phone (I did not have one in my room at my request)to contact my cell phone service, to notify them of the loss. I was told that since it was a long distance call, that they could not help me. I even offered to pay for the call. Have you ever tried to locate a working pay phone in New Orleans? Probably would stay here again, but then again, maybe not.
