| We stayed one night. Basically it's a large three-story motel, with doors along outdoor covered walkways that either face the parking lot or other rooms. It's older, but maintained well. The grounds are nothing to speak of - lots of concrete ramps and railings. Our room was compact but nicely decorated, new-looking, and clean. Location is near some older offices. It's conveniently located right off the freeway, just down the road from an Applebees restaurant and along the main road that goes to the Garden of the God's nature area. My only complaint concerns the way the continental breakfast was handled. My wife was there waiting for me when the breakfast ended, and the female morning attendant refused to allow her to take items at the last minute to hold for me. My wife grabbed them, but only as the attendant scurried to try to keep everything from her as she insisted that it was too late. So, the moral is ... don't be late for breakfast. On a more positive note, the male staff person there was polite and helpful.

| The pictures on the Expedia website make the hotel look better than it is. It was ok for the money. The pool was very cold, despite the 90 degree heat. The air conditioner in our room was very loud. Freeway noise was loud in our room all night long. Continental breakfast was better than the average hotel, with yogurt, waffles and muffins being served. Be aware that most of the rooms have external corridor entrances.

| The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, the pool was great. The people were nice and helpful. The price was good. For the price the hotel was exceptional. If you want luxury you will need to spend more, but for a good bang for your buck this was a great buy. I must note though if you are a light sleeper, this hotel is close to train tracks that run during the night. You might want to request a room to the front of the hotel instead of the back.

| Hotel had a wonderful view of the park next door. My main dissatisfaction was in being assigned to a smoking room, one that had burns in the bedding and in the bathroom, and a strong smoke smell throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfast was fine as was the treatment we received from the staff.

| The staff was courteous, the rooms were clean. The staff was also prone to error, having mishandled my checking, repeatedly failed to activate specific services (even when they thought they had), Mishandled incoming messages and supplied erroneous information about various services. Additionally, the "fitted" sheets did not fit the beds (and came over during the night). (I did not take any meals there, so I cannot comment).

| La Quinta Garden of the Gods provided exactly what one would expect from a nicer 2-star hotel - free breakfast, wireless throughout, pool, average room and beds. Walls didn't stop as much adjacent room noise as I would have preferred. Very helpful front desk and adequate breakfast was offered.
