Features
What to expect: Built in the 1960s as part of a stylish mixed-use complex, the hotel attracts international dignitaries and well-heeled travelers. The fragrance of fresh flowers fills the long, gleaming marble lobby. The complex became infamous in the early 1970s when President Richard Nixon’s re-election team broke into the Democratic Party headquarters next to the hotel.
Amenity highlights: Aquarelle, the hotel’s contemporary restaurant, serves Mediterranean cuisine accompanied by superb views of the Potomac River. Cocktails are served in the split-level Potomac Lounge. After exercising in the fitness center, guests can unwind with a manicure or pedicure at Zahira’s Hair Salon, located just beyond the lobby.
Aquarelle - Mediterranean cuisine; wide windows with sweeping views of Potomac River and cityscape to the south. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Tasting menus, pre-theater menus. Potomac Lounge - Split-level lounge serving light fare and drinks every evening. Located opposite registration desk.

| The valet service was courteous and knowledgable about the area. The room was very cold and I had trouble with the toilet. The tv was on a table with wheels and the cables were a mess on the ground behind the tv. The overall appearnce of the room was not what I expected from a hotel of this caliber. However, the staff was very nice and helpful.

| I was very impressed with the attention of the staff. Mostly everyone was extremely courteous and kind. The Aquanelle restaurant was wonderful - the food was delicious and very satisfying - the service was exceptional. My stay was short (just one night);if I could have, I would have extended my trip. Thanks Watergate staff....

| The hotel was tastefully decorated and our room was enormous compared to other hotels. It is conveniently located near a primary Metro station, so getting around the city was very easy. When we return to the area we WILL stay at the Watergate!

| The hotel staff was friendly and efficient when we checked in. The room was clean and appealing with plenty of room for lounging and a fabulous bathroom! We had a wonderful view of the Potomac from our balconey. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as I'd already read that it was not worthy of the expense but found good diners near by. Our air conditioning went out and it was quite warm, but, the hotel engineer had it fixed within the hour. Over all the hotel was very pretty and the staff from the front desk to the car valets gave fabulous service. I highly reccommend this hotel!

| Situated on the banks of the Potomac River, the Watergate Hotel is right next door to the Kennedy Center. We could walk to the Lincoln Monument, and that put us right on the Mall. We were about 4 blocks from the Metro, with a Starbucks right there at the station. Hotel staff were very helpful about giving us directions and locating places we wanted to go. The restaurant, however was pricey and not that good. There was a free performance at the Kennedy Center every night which was fabulous.
