| Beach and nightlife center of Waikiki Bookended by the sand and turquoise water of Waikiki Beach and world-class shopping, this Oahu flagship of the Outrigger hotel chain is where outrigger canoes and catamarans board paying customers during the day and attract a variety of visitors after dark for entertainment. Befitting its status among Outrigger hotels, The Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach pays close attention to details. Island-décor guestrooms feature custom-designed bedspreads, Pikake-scented toiletries, and bathrobes. The pool and the surrounding sundeck provide one option for lazing in the sun, but the beach is only one step away and the water just beyond. Shops and travel and car-rental desks offer convenience, while a pianist graces the upper lobby in the evenings and koa-wood accents gleam luxuriously.

Features
What to expect: This casual, well-maintained hotel draws vacationing families, celebrating couples, young singles, and some older guests who’ve been returning for years. The large, busy lobby is decorated with Hawaiian art, including a full-sized, century-old, koa-wood outrigger canoe, and royal standards made of feathers. Pacific crafts, toys, beachwear, and sundries are sold in shops on site, and the hotel has several, beachfront restaurants.
Amenity highlights: Guests can enjoy surfing lessons, outrigger canoe rides, catamaran cruises, and beachside massage under a thatched roof (surcharges). Weekly lobby activities include storytelling, and Hawaiian craft and music workshops. A long-time musical variety act, Society of Seven, performs every night but Monday.
Insider tip: All OHANA and Outrigger hotels in Waikiki offer interchangeable hospitality. Guests at any hotel are invited to enjoy dining, entertainment, and facilities at the other hotels—including the Serenity Spa (health and beauty) and Cowabunga Kids Club at The Outrigger Reef on the Beach—while charging to their rooms. Exceptions are that the pool at this hotel is reserved for hotel guests and the fitness center at The Outrigger Reef on the beach is reserved for hotel guests and for Outrigger Waikiki Shore guests. Bonus tip: Reasonably priced leis are sold at the entrance to Duke's Canoe Club (evenings). There is an extensive variety of blossoms to choose from, and a local woman strings them right on site.
Duke’s Canoe Club – This lively and casual beachside restaurant and “barefoot bar” are dedicated to Duke Kahanamoku, legendary surfer, Olympic swimmer, movie star, and goodwill ambassador. Buffet breakfast, lunch, and à la carte dinner (fresh fish and steak with salad bar). Live Hawaiian music nightly. Hula Grill – Right above Duke’s, this casual ocean-view restaurant serves breakfast and dinner made with fresh ingredients in interesting combinations. Its bar, open from late afternoon, is a quieter alternative to Duke’s. Chuck’s Steakhouse – This beachfront outlet of the national chain offers steak and seafood dinners and salad bar. Frank Pai Deli - Located at street level, the deli serves healthy sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, and smoothies all day. Outrigger Snack Shop – Located at the hotel pool right by the beach, this little place serves a hot dog made from hamburger, smoothies, soft ice cream, and shave ice. Open all day. Seattle’s Best Coffee - Located at street level, this coffee bar serves espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and sweets from early morning all through the evening.

| We stayed in a city view room which is somewhat noisy. Other than that, it was pretty nice.

| My 16 yr. old son and I stayed for 6 days and had a wonderful time. The Outrigger has the best location on Waikiki Beach. It is close to surfing lessons and board rentals and all the action on the beach. The hotel was recently remodeled and we were very pleased with the rooms and the service. There are three restaurants in the hotel and we enjoyed all three. Dukes is a popular place and had lots of live music on the weekend and in the evenings. We will definitely stay there again.

| Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Great location, you do not need a car. Lot of beach activity, close to shopping and close to shuttles for venues outside the city (Pearl Harbor, Sea Life Park etc.)

| I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, August 24-29. I picked this hotel because of its location and being on the beach and VERY reasonable deal. Room was great but beds weren't comfortable. When we arrived, we were upgraded to partial-oceanview for not add'l charge on the 9th floor. It was noisy out from a/c unit (huge) from the building below. But overall, we were happy. We loved all the restaurants there: Duke's and Hulas and Chuck's. I wouldn't recommend Chuck's since we felt it was overpriced. (food was good though). For me personally, just to have breakfast/lunch with the oceanview and great food is priceless. :) We would go back to this hotel!

| Looking for a great, first time Hawaii experience? The Outrigger Waikiki is the place to stay. Located right on the beach in the heart of Waikiki, it's perfect for the first or second-time tourist. Walk right out of the lower lobby and right onto the beach. Great for the kids. Adults too, since the restaurant/bar fronts on the shore, as well. Also, one of the two house restaurants, "Dukes", was the best place we found to eat. Great steaks and cheaper than the local "Outback Steakhouse". This was our second time at the "OW" and we'll definitely return. The only slight down-side to the hotel is driving access. It's located on a busy oneway street in the Waikiki area and the only hotel parking is by mandatory, charged, valet. But the valet attendants are courteous and fast.

| our family (of 4) spent a week at the Outrigger Waikiki. We had a wonderful stay there. They took care of us (had to change rooms but were upgraded from city view to partial ocean view)and the rooms were nice. The restaurants were fantastic - good food practically on the beach. the hotel was located in the heart of Waikiki and easily within walking distance from stores, restaurants etc. only drawback for kids - their pool is for adults, shallow only in one corner at 4 1/2 ft.- but beach was great.

| We took this vacation with our 2 nieces and had a wonderful time. At check in, we were notified that our room was automatically upgraded which was great since I was going to look into paying for an upgrade. Room was always clean and extra towels were left. We had stayed at the same hotel for 5 years in a row and just decided to try this one since we always eat at Duke's anyways. We will never go back to the prior hotel. The Outrigger Waikiki Beach Hotel is great, we highly recommend and will be back every August. Aloha!
