Features
What to expect: Located across from Denver’s old Stapleton Airport in an area undergoing a retail renaissance, this hotel is just off Interstate 70. With its easy access to both downtown and Denver International Airport (16 miles away), this casual, nine-story hotel fills with budget-savvy business travelers during the week, and vacationers and families arrive on weekends.

Amenity highlights: Highlights include the complimentary shuttle service and large indoor pool, outdoor spa, pool table, and 24-hour fitness center with exercise machines and saunas. The Café offers casual dining, while Characters sports bar provides an ideal spot to watch the big game. Guests receive the trademark Doubletree chocolate chip cookies at check-in.

Insider tip: The hotel’s courtesy van makes regular afternoon and evening stops in downtown Denver, which is divided into four districts: Civic Center Park (located near the capitol building), art museum, and U.S. Mint; the mile-long 16th Street Mall; LoDo historical warehouse district centered around Coors Field; and South Platte Valley, home of Six Flags Elitch Gardens Theme Park and Ocean Journey aquarium.

The Café - Open from early morning to late night daily, this casual restaurant serves breakfast (including a buffet), lunch, and dinner. A lunch buffet is available Monday through Friday. A deli, located at the entrance, offers breakfast breads and pastries, sandwiches, salads, and coffee specialty drinks daily.

Characters - The hotel’s sports bar serves beer, cocktails, pub fare, and fresh popcorn. Popular with those who work at neighborhood businesses, it features a jumbo television, bar seating, and walls covered with vintage mountain equipment and Colorado sports memorabilia. Open from evenings.

Lobby Bar - This lounge serves cocktails and a casual menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrées in an elegant but relaxed atmosphere. Hours vary.

After visiting Denver on many different occasions I have found comfort in staying at the Doubletree Hotels. This was the first time staying at the Stapleton Doubletree but I felt that it was as comfortable and convenient to visit the people and sites that we wanted to.

The list of problems is too long to give here. The staff was nice and responsive, but problems with the overall condition of the building and rooms gave our stay a bad taste. The building is run down and definately not what we expected from a Doubletree. Perhaps, when they do a renovation...

The Doubletree on Quebec in the Stapleton area of Denver is a great place to stay! The rooms were great, and we enjoyed the pool as well as the courteous service of all the employees. We would definitely stay there again----loved the warm cookie at check-in!

When I arrived at the hotel I was quickly sent to the sister hotel because a group of people ransacked a group of rooms. They were wonderful in setting me up, shuttling me over and comp-ing the room for me for the night. I thought that was great. Not only that, but they got me into their hotel the next morning and when I got to my room there was a basket of food and drinks in my room with a card from the room manager. That meant a lot. They were very helpful and the staff at the bag station and the restaurant was super friendly.

I got a great price through Expedia for my stay at The Doubletree Hotel Denver. It seemed to be an older hotel that has been remodeled, and I prefer the newer hotels. However, the room was very clean, and the service was top shelf. I would stay there again.

Stapleton is convenient to I-70 and lots of services. Downtown is only 10 minutes away. The hotel had a data input error and only claimed we had paid for three night, not five. They informed us of the issues the night before we left. I have to thank Expedia for their rapid response after my call and they resolved the issue. The hotel staff was not nearly as helpful as Expedia.

My son and I stayed here on a recent weekend trip to watch the Colorado Rockies play the Dodgers at Coors Field (one of the nicer MLB parks). It was very easy to get to from the airport (15 minutes) and equally close to the ballpark and Denver's city center. The hotel staff was very gracious and the room was very clean and comfortable. There's additional parking around the back which we used to avoid the congested parking lot out front of the hotel. We'll definitely go back next time around.

Helpful staff, good restaurant, car-rental booth in the hotel- very convenient. Right across the street from the former Stapleton airport, which is being converted to a residential/retail area, and now contains an open-air mall with Wal-Mart and other stores. High-speed internet available at the hotel, but at a $10/day fee. Parking is uncovered, and somewhat limited.
