Features
What to expect: Bringing a breath of fresh air to the typically formal decor of D.C. hotels, this hotel will surprise you with funky, but chic surroundings combined with the essential services of a traditional hotel.

Amenity highlights: Not your typical neutral decor and standard-issue furniture accommodation, this hotel brings a facet of cutting-edge chic to business and leisure travel with elements such as glass sinks, curvy mirrors, and bold, natural wood furnishings in the lobby and guestrooms. Meeting rooms welcome in a good dose of natural light and feature networking infrastructure and video conferencing, and the business center and high-speed Internet access in the corporate rooms make this a great choice for business travel. You'll also find updated amenities such as a CD player and laptop-sized safe in your room, in addition to homey touches such as a colored shower curtain instead of the standard white. And, just to shake things up a bit, the lobby bar offers 25 kinds of bourbon instead of the usual cocktail menu.

Insider tip: Because most D.C. hotels are located in the city center, there aren't many hotels with landscaped grounds to stroll, but this hotel features a pleasant courtyard perfect for taking a break from meetings or catching up on a good book. If you plan to swim, the hotel does have access to the nearby YMCA, but does not have an on-site pool.

15 ria - 15 ria focuses on using fresh, local products prepared in a straightforward and accessible fashion. The menu features comfort foods with creative side dishes. Reservations are highly recommended for this popular destination restaurant.

15 ria Bar and Lounge - This dynamic, yet intimate bar and lounge is a great after-work and late-night hangout. The draw is great music, contemporary and classic cocktails, and a great selection of bourbon. The bar also offers all the popular vodkas, as well as an exciting selection of New World wines and first-rate microbrews.

Room service is also available.

We celebrated our 25th anniv. here & the staff was awesome to work with for this. The rooms were just like what was viewed on site. Rooms were very clean & comfortable. The beds are not your typical hotels beds, they really are comfortable. The towels are so thick & warm, I actually used one as a shawl while we sat in our room. We had ice cold bottled water & wet washcloths available in the lobby, as it was over 100 degrees each day. The 15Ria restaurant was superb. All hotel employees need to be very proud as they do an awesome job. I know I sound repetative, but our whole experience was GREAT. Would highly recommend this hotel & would stay here in a heartbeat again. Kudos

The hotel itself was very nice, clean, and orderly. The room was nice but a little small. Our biggest complaint was the service. The staff in the bar / restaurant were not very attentive and it took constant effort on our part to get service. The front desk and bell staff were not very helpful in giving advice on getting around town (i.e. metro locations, use of shuttles vs. taxi, etc.)

We chose this hotel for the proximity to things in the DC area. The best thing about the hotel was the comfortable beds. We got a good nights sleep and didn't feel this was different than sleeping in our own bed. The room was small but adequate for our needs. We chose to take the Metro and this was a little bit of a walk from McPherson station. We will return the next time we go to DC.

My husband and 11-year-old son and I stayed in a double-bedded room for four nights while in Washington, DC, for a several days of sight-seeing. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the noise level was satisfactory, and the staff were very pleasant. The bathroom was small, but clean and functional. Based on my research, the rates were very reasonable. and affordable. The restaurant was a little expensive, but very good -- we went there for appetizers one evening and had two excellent breakfasts there. The location was very convenient for tourists like us -- just a pleasant 10-minute walk to the Dupont Circle Metro station. We would definitely return to the Doubletree!

Our stay was perfect. The room was nice, the location was great but the thing that just tops it all off is that when we checked in we were greeted with a delicious warm chocolate chip cookie...who does that?

Other reviews are correct in that the beds are the comfiest. Bathroom was small. The ice machine & soda machine are on separate floors. Had a nice very stay overall.
