| Lodging in London is always a gamble. Coming from the US, one should expect the obvious: a smaller room and higher prices for it. The Hotel Ibis was a very nice, almost American-like place to stay. The room was small, but larger than most European hotel rooms I have stayed in. My room had just been recently renovated, so the bed was nice, the desk was nice and the bathroom was more than adequate. The only real knock on the place was the location. There are really no sights or things of any consequence to do in West Brompton, so plan on a good Tube ride whenever you venture out (although the hotel is only a two minute walk from the station). Make a point to have everything you need for the entire day when you leave the hotel in the morning. Other than that, I was very satisfied with the price, the appearance and the on-site pub. All in all, a good, reasonable and safe bet for someone planning a trip to London.

| I found trying to call the U.S. was very difficult and expensive. I was able to use a prepaid phone card in a public telephone booth outside the hotel, which cost about $10 for 15 minutes which was less outrageous than trying to call from the hotel! Otherwise, my stay was wonderful.

| This hotel was just out of the main part of the city. Bus Stop just outside the door was very convenient and Tube station 2-3 minute walk away. Breakfast was quite adequate and a resonable price for the convenience. We had dinner in the pub which is located inside the hotel, quite satisfying, nicely presented and the ambience very british and reasonably priced. They are currently refurbishing the hotel and on arrival we were placed on a floor where renovations were in progress. However, we were quickly moved to another floor, where there were no distractions and we had a very pleasant stay.

| I would recommend this hotel. It was a great value for the price. Although my room had no A/C, the hotel said that they would soon have A/C in all the rooms. It was really close to the tube station (West Brompton), so it was easy to get to other places. The marble bathroom was really nice! I booked it again for the following weekend.

| Plan on using the tube to get around. West Brompton station. There's really nothing of interest near the hotel. But there is a grocery and some take out nearby. Towels are skimpy and a/c wasn't working. Decent facility but definitely budget. Fine for sleeping and showering.

| We stayed here for a few nights in May 2005. The hotel was convenient to the underground and it was easy to get into London for restaurants and tourist attractions. The immediate neighborhood is not very attractive, but seems safe. The hotel conveniently has computers with internet access in the lobby (1 pound for 10 min) but at least 1 of the 2 was consistently broken and the hotel staff did not seem to care since they were maintained by an outside company. Overall, the hotel was clean, comfortable, and safe with nice large rooms and a great bathrooms, but fairly average in terms of decor and neighborhood.

| The best part of the hotel is the location. Very near the West Brompton stop on tube station. Just three or four blocks up the hill (not a steep hill) and I found the tube to be convenient for everything in London. I was not pleased with the rather chilly attitude of the staff of this hotel who don't seem very forthcoming with information about anything. It seems like business travelers were given the most attention and consideration. The room was clean but of course not fancy. Beds are a little too hard and walls are paper thin. Without trying I could hear TV in the other room as well as people talking and laughing. (I was on the 6th floor.) I would recommend you be good and tired when you go to bed if you wish to sleep well. Price of food in hotel restaurant is steep as you would expect. For the price of the rooms and location and at least a fairly comfortable stay, I would say this hotel is O.K., especially for a traveler on a budget.

| This is a decent hotel for Europe. The lobby and restaruant were very nicely remodeled. Our room was a little worn, but aren't they all. The bathroom was very clean and totally remodeled. The beds in our room however were not very comftorable, one of them slid from side to side when you sat down on it. Of course there is no air conditioning, but the windows opened. It was slightly noisy at night with them open even being on the 11th floor. We were able to check in at 10 am, but had to settle for a smoking room. Being a non-smoker, I wouldn't suggest doing that. We were awoken every morning at 6 am by our neighbors lingering cigarette smoke. Not a pleasant way to wake up. The hotel was in a nice location to the West Brompton station which made it very convienent to get around London. The staff was very friendly and I found them to be very helpful when asked how to get somewhere in town. Overall, I would say it was a decent hotel for the money. But if your looking for a luxury hotel, I wouldn't suggest you stay here.
