Me, my husband and our 3 year old daughter just returned from the Marriott Marco Island & had a wonderful time. Typical FL weather with some storms here & there, but overall hot & sunny! PROS: The room was beautiful & clean (stayed in the north tower, which was recently renovated). The kids tiki pool is so much fun for little ones (and us). The beach was huge, white & beautiful with a great sandbar for the kids & had tons of shells to pick from to take home. When you go to the beach, you just walk up to the beach hut & tell them where you want your chairs & they bring them to you. The service is that of a first class resort - everyone is overly friendly and very accommodating. We asked for a late checkout due to an evening flight home & they were more than happy to accommodate us. A local told us that the Marriott was by far the nicest resort on the island with the cleanest beach. CONS: The hotel amenities are expensive (a cheeseburger at the poolside tiki bar $11.95/ hotdog $8.95/ alcoholic beverages quite pricy, too). The other restaurants are pricy also. An umbrella is not included with your chairs on the beach (have to rent those daily). If you drive in to Marco, they also charge a daily parking fee (to park across the street). We loved this place, but wished that their prices were more reasonable. There are plenty of places on the island to get fast food, etc. though. Would definitely go back again.

This is a first class operation, expensive but exceptional. they need to keep better track of their beach workers, they take down unbrellas and run people off at slightist hint of rain. They did that 3 days of of 6, while every other resort in sight did not.

The hotel and spa were wonderful. The restaurants had good food. A little pricey, but at least you got what you paid for. The grounds were beautiful. The staff was always helpful and greeted you with a smile. The rooms could have been cleaner. I found missed areas in the bathroom, rugs, etc. They also need to do a better job cleaning the balconies for each room as the birds really do a number on them. This provides for unpleasantness. These balconies are a wonderful respite after a day in the sun.
