We were in San Diego to see the Braves/Padres weekend series. It was perfect - just right across the street from Petco Park. We didn't even rent a car - just a $15 cab ride to and from the airport and the rest of the time we were able to walk to wherever we wanted to go.

Stayed for our honeymoon. The hotel was very accomodating, upgraded our room and sent champagne and strawberries our first night. Staff was always courteous and helpful. The checkin was very good. We arrived at 10AM, rooms were being cleaned, they took my cell phone number and called us at 1:30 when room was ready. Room was very clean and well furnished. Only downside was that housekeeping never replenished toiletries and bathrobes, had to call 2 nights in a row, but overall that's OK. Chi-chi bar on roof with good view of ballpark for those interested in that.

The hotel feels very new. Very clean and quiet. comfortable beds. Elegant decor. Very convenient to the Gaslight Quarter, couple of blocks from the Convention Center. This was a great place to get a good night's sleep when I went to attend a conference. I did not have a chance to eat in the hotel but the restaurant looked good and there is an open air lounge on the roof. I would not recommend this hotel to families with kids: no pool, restaurant too fancy for families esp with smaller kids.
