Features
What to expect: This restored 1906 building, listed as a National Trust Historic Hotel of America, is a classic three-story Victorian hotel, with red-brick construction, soft green trim, and wrought-iron verandas. The small, quiet lobby overlooks a serene courtyard with a fountain, palmettos, and garden seating. Fine custom fabrics and carpeting, notable artworks, and arched doorways give the hotel a sense of charm and grace. Amenity highlights: Polo’s Restaurant serves fine Continental cuisine and delivers 24-hour room service. Guests enjoy fine spirits in Polo’s turn-of-the-century bar. The hotel has elegant spaces to accommodate business and social events and provides business services, catering, wedding coordination, and limousine services (surcharge). Insider tip: In 1985, the hotel was moved intact six blocks to its present location. A glass cabinet in the lobby holds artifacts found during the excavation of the hotel’s present site. Among the artifacts are 19th-century military objects used in the Battle of the Alamo and an unusual assortment of British china.
Polo’s Restaurant - A warm and sophisticated restaurant serving fine French and Continental cuisine. Walls are painted soothing pastels and lighting is subdued. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Polo’s Bar - Old elegance with a deal-maker marble-topped bar, lots of brass, and well-worn leather and wooden stools. Live entertainment and fine spirits. Open afternoons until late night.

| The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. At 7 in the morning they helped me track down migraine medicine for my husband. The hotel restaurant, Sage, has impeccable service and delicious food. Especially the sun-dried tomato tapenade!

| I never like to stay at one of those big chain hotels. I always try to pick something unique and stylish, and this hotel offered both! It wasn't exactly my personal taste but the room was decorated beautifully and the complimentary toiletries (the products by Gilchrist & Soames) were awesome! Don't spend your money on those big name hotels with no character, but stay here because I know you'll love it!

| The Fairmount Hotel in San Antonio is a wonderful, small, quiet hotel right next door to La Villita, and around the corner from the convention center. The riverwalk is only a short walk away. The public areas are beautiful, the staff is attentive, and the guest rooms are magnificent. This is a great place to come for a romantic getaway. The rooms are large and lavishly decorated with antique furnishings. The amenities, however, are modern, with complementary bathrobes, spa toiletries, and free wireless internet. The small size, 37 rooms, and attention to detail, make this an oasis in an otherwise increasingly busy area. This will be my preferred hotel in San Antonio from now on.

| This hotel was great. I have done a lot of traveling while I was in the Marine Corps so I have been in quit a few hotels. This was a small, old time feeling, well staffed place to stay. The room was very lavishly decorated, yet was able to keep from being tacky. Our room came with a balcany that was overlooking a garden that had been done and maintained by the hotel. For my wife and I this will be our hotel of choice on all our future trips to San Anton. Which should be quit a few, big spurs fan. I hope this review has helped at least a few of you checking this place out in a decision to stay here.
