The staff was really nice, but the whole place needed some TLC. The rooms were clean, but floors were cracked, marble in tubs was broken, mirrors were supported by big nails and the elevators needed painting and vaccuming. The pool needed a good scrubbing and the area around it cleaned up. It was handy to lots of points of interest.

Excellent adjacent restaurant open for lunch, dinner. Also within walking distance of the Cup, the restaurant in Hotel congress. Pool was chilly, but nicely landscaped. Continental breakfast lacking.

OK, continental breakfast room smelled like a wine cellar. Coffee had a funny taste. Shower tile was damaged and bulging from the wall. Cheap price made up for deficiencies. Close to U of A, no traffic problems. First time staying downtown. Did not know there were so many seedy areas downtown.

This hotel reservation was made sight unseen, based strictly on Expedia description and we were very satisfied. it was inexpensive, had a historic character and was nicely maintained and staffed. i liked staying right downtown rather than on some highway. and would definitely return.

I didn"t read the reviews until the night before my trip. If I had read them earlier I might have concelled due to what people are saying. The hotel is a little rough around the edges but the service friendly, and my room was comfortable and clean. It has an excellent location (walking distance to 4th ave and convention center)and adequate parking for no charge.

This hotel is very old and needs some work. The rooms are comfortable and clean but show signs of wear and need some repairs to them. The garden area is beautiful and the restaurant is superb.I would not reccommend it to friends unless some much needed repair and updating was done.Staff were polite and helpful.

This was not what I expected from a 3 star hotel. The room had seen better days. The restaurant was nice but not friendly...apparently it is a "hot spot" and a basic traveler looking for a meal is not really welcomed. The outside stair well door was often open which made me nervous about security. In fact, my sliding door to my balcony was opened after I came back from a day out on business. Not a place to return to...even the sign on the street identifing the hotel was broken and run down.

Hotel is old. Elevator smelled moldy as did downstairs banquet room. Description of amenities listed a breakfast "buffet" which turned out to be juice, coffee, dry cereal and bagels. I think a more accurate description would have been "continental" breakfast. Front counter staff was not overly friendly.

This hotel is certainly NOT a 3 star hotel. The first room was dirty and worn with a non-working TV; the second room was an alleged suite..a tiny seperate room with couch and TV. This TV did not work well...I had to adjust the cable box just to watch ESPN. The lobby was dirty, the elevator hadn't met a vaccum cleaner in days, the continental b'fast was a joke, the room shabby and dirty. It is an old hotel that looks every bit its age. To return is unthinkable.

This historic Tucson hotel has seen better days. The first room I was given had a broken door lock and a missing coffee maker. The second room had a broken coffee maker. The heat was all or nothing, I requested an extra blanket. Although it was promptly delivered, it had a big hole in it. The room keys worked sporadically. Every time I left the room, I wasn't sure I could get back in. On the plus side, the staff was extremely knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. I would not stay again.
