    Features
What to expect: The hotel's elegant, two-story, terrazzo-and-granite lobby has wood columns, stately seating, and floor-to-ceiling windows. At ground level, families and groups convene before heading out for the day and business travelers take advantage of a couch for laptop computer use and cell phone calls. Registration is on the second level, up a grand, curving staircase accented by a crystal chandelier.

Amenity highlights: A self-serve, 24-hour business center has three work stations, a copy machine, and a fax machine. Here, guests have complimentary use of four laptops with wireless Internet service to check e-mail, download files, or surf the Web. The fitness center contains stationary bicycles, treadmills, steppers, and free weights. In-room massages can be arranged through the concierge. The indoor pool has a sauna and spa.

Insider tip: Five blocks away is the Wrigley Building, corporate headquarters for the gum company and one of Chicago’s enduring landmarks. Approximately 250,000 individual glazed terra cotta tiles cover the structure and each tile is uniquely identified in a computer database that enables consistent tracking and maintenance.

Caliterra - This intimate, cherry-wood-accented room serves Californian and Italian fusion cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can dine on couches in the lounge, at romantic tables near the curved wall of windows, or in banquette seating. Breakfast consists of an elaborate buffet or a more traditional fare such as cereal and oatmeal. Lunch and dinner include organic salads, pastas, and seafood. The exhibition kitchen is lively at dinner, when a four- or six-course tasting menu and cheese cart is offered. A wine room can be reserved for small parties.

Everything about the hotel was fine except the location. Our room was the 9th floor on Saint Clair. A hospital must be near by because of the occasional ambulance would go by. For some this may be an issue. It did not interupt our sleep.

The Wyndham Chicago turned out to be a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location! It is one block from Michagen Avenue, 4 blocks from the Hancock Center, 5 blocks from the Chicago River, and 6 blocks from the Navy Pier. Shopping, dining, and attractions abound within walking distance. The staff was very friendly, efficient and helpful. We arrived at 10:00a.m. and were allowed to check into our room early. We were also allowed to check out late the day of departure. The room was a good size, extremely clean and comfortable, and we got a great rate during Labor Day weekend.

The hotel is great and is in a great location. The room was great and the hotel accomodated all of my requests. The only complaint I can say is that the carpet in the room needed cleaned. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel!

Some hotels may claim heavenly beds - I think this is the one!!!! This is the most comfortable beds I've ever experienced. the rooms are spacious, bathrooms are big, lobby is very large enough so you won't feel crowded. the location is great near magnificent miles and surrounded by restaurants. This is the only hotel I will stay everytime I go to Chicago!

My husband and I were very pleased with the Wyndham, Chicago and their very pleasant and helpful employees. Our room was very clean and the bed linens impressive. I was also impressed by the Amercian Doll program they offered and passed this information on to friends of little girls.

The Wyndham Chicago hotel is conveniently located a block away from the Magnificent Mile, the North Michigan Ave. shopping promenade. It is also near a post office, convenience stores, a breakfast bakery, Internet cafe, etc. The room I occupied had an extra big bathroom and king size bed, TV, 3 phones (including an extension in the bathroom), etc. However, the instruction manual on how to use the coffee brewer was missing. The concierge was very helpful. But something awful happened when I checked out. My luggage was brought down to the lobby as I waited for my daughter to pick me up to go to the airport. But when the car came, my luggage was missing! Turns out a staffer, for some reason, had brought it upstairs again. I had to wait five minutes for my luggage to be found. The porter and staff apologized for the snafu, but my blood pressure went up.

The Wyndham was a very clean hotel, and I am very picky about clean hotels. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. It's in a great location right off Michigan Ave. and there is a bakery right across the street for breakfasts. I couldn't ask for more from a hotel, especially for the price.
