Disneyland Hotel - On Disneyland Resort Property Amenities
Spreading the magic for more than 45 years, the 1955 Disneyland® Hotel is a true original and, after a complete renovation in 2002, it’s looking better than ever. Built shortly after the debut of the Disneyland® park, the 14-story hotel offers enough action to keep kids busy while cultivating a nostalgic attitude that grown-ups appreciate. The resort’s swimming pools include the popular Never Land Pool, which features a Peter Pan theme and a 100-foot-long waterslide, and the two quieter Cove Pools, which offer a private sandy beach, adjacent playground, and poolside volleyball. Kids can spy Disney characters at breakfast in Goofy’s Kitchen. In addition to the numerous dining outlets, there are gardens with waterfalls and calm ponds full of koi through which guests can wander. For more adventure, guests can hop on the Safari Adventure remote-controlled Jungle Cruises or visit the adjacent Downtown Disney® District. Finally, both self- and valet parking is offered, and turndown service is available on request, for an additional charge. High-speed Internet access is available in all guest rooms as well as the Top Brass Bar, Lost Bar, Captain's Galley (pool area), concierge lounge, and business center.

Recreation
The hotel’s three themed (and heated) swimming pools are the central focus here, and they include two quieter Cove Pools, one with a sandy beach and playground nearby, and the ever-popular Never Land Pool, which has a Peter Pan theme and a 100-foot-long waterslide. A jetted spa tub is also on site. The on-site fitness center, called Team Mickey’s Workout Room, provides exercise bicycles and treadmills, free weights, a massage chair, and various other weight machines as well as TV monitors. Guests can also rejuvenate by strolling through the hotel’s gardens, which include waterfalls and ponds alive with colorful koi, whose ancestors were a gift from the Emperor of Japan. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: This is the original Disney-affiliated hotel, opened in 1955 shortly after the debut of the Disneyland® park. Sparkling not only with pixie dust, but also from the results of an exquisite 2002 renovation, the gleaming hotel offers a place where families enjoy glammed-up nostalgia and a complete theme-park experience, where both public rooms and accommodations have been designed to extend the magic and fantasy of Disneyland® park. Service is with a smile, in what truly may be “the happiest place on earth.”
Amenity highlights: Children gravitate toward the Peter Pan-themed Never Land Pool, with its 100-foot waterslide, while adults usually prefer the adjacent Cove Pools. Nearby, the Lost Bar—with vaulted ceilings, tin roof, and wooden beams, caters to a casual crowd, while the Wine Cellar provides an intimate venue for enjoying fine California wines by the glass. Exquisite gardens, with scenic waterfalls and koi ponds, are in tune with the “kingdom’s” aura of enchantment. High-speed Internet access is available in all guest rooms as well as the Top Brass Bar, Lost Bar, Captain's Galley (pool area), concierge lounge, and business center.
Insider tip: The “pixie dust” ceiling borders in guestrooms are “charged” during the day by both natural and lamp light. Once the lights are out, and everyone’s tucked into bed, the ceiling edges come to life and twinkle pixie dust at those watching from below.

The Coffee House - Coffee and pastries are served daily at this casual café with outdoor seating. Wine Cellar - Located below Hook’s Pointe, this intimate wine bar features California wines by the glass or bottle, as well as appetizers and international beers. Lost Bar - Adjacent to the pool complex, this informal watering hole has vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, and a tin roof, and offers low-key ambience and occasional live entertainment. Top Brass - This appealing lounge is a great spot to unwind and enjoy casual conversation.

| I think the hotel was nice but the level of service was average and the price was too high for the amenities and level of service you received.

| Staying at the Disneyland Hotel was a delight. It completed our Disney trip and it's so great being so close to the park. We will definitely come back next time.

| My daughter and I had the best time. When she got tired we hopped on the monerail and rested at the hotel, then headed back to the park. The hotel was clean and the staff was warm and helpful. They really made my daughters birthday a magical one. I feel this is the only way to enjoy Disneyland. I to felt like a kid again.

| For the money that you are paying, this hotel is pretty ghetto. There is mildew in the shower and you can get only scalding hot or stone cold water. There is no food court like in most Disney World hotels so you are forced to spend ALOT of money if you want to eat in their sit down restaurants. If you don't, you have to go walking to Downtown Disny to find something else. There is no coffee maker in the room which is totally ridiculous for the price you pay. You do get a convenient location but that's it.

| I have traveled to disnayland twice before and stayed off site both times and staying on site is the only way to go. It was so nice to walk right out to downtown disney. We found walking to be faster than waiting for the monorail. The condition of the rooms was great. Yes, it's very pricey, but I've stayed in Las Vegas for more and not been as pleased. The hotel staff was very nice. Guest services was very accomadating for helping us get off site for a day at the beach. We used the car rental agency at downtown disney and the hotel arranged the whole thing! We can't wait to go back now that we know the secret to getting the most of a disney vacation.

| I was a bit disappointed in the Disneyland Hotel. I thought for the price that you pay , it would be a lot nicer.......it is very old and could use some updating. It is very convenient being so close to the parks, the sevice was very good and the pool was enjoyable for the kids.

| Hotel is a bit old - but in good shape - nice rooms - excellent beds if you like hard ones and have back issues - best I know in the US (not sure why Disney has them...). Pool is very nice and kid friendly, gym is good and open 24 hours wich is great. Disneyland is in walking distance - and you can take the monorail / California adventure even closer - so very nice alternative to stay at Disneyland and visit...

| 12 of us in all, including 2 babies. be aware that check in is 3 pm! we arrived at 9 am. 1 of the 3 rooms i reserved did not become available until 12:30 pm, which i was told was remarkably early and that i was lucky that it was available so soon in the day. other 2 were not ready until 4:30 that afternoon. after an early start that morning(4 am) to catch the flight to CA, 1 hr plane trip, 30 min shuttle to hotel and then all 12 of us crammed into one hotel room. we were ready for a quick nap but not once did any of the "cast members" offer any kind of help until my 5th visit within 4 hours to the front desk to check on the other rooms did one cast member finally step up and see if there was actually something he could do to accomadate us. he did by offering me a pen with the hotels phone number on it. he advised me that i could call front desk rather than walk to the front desk to check on the other rooms. I could not believe his coldness. not 1 person was "happy" I was very disappointed with the hotel staff not one was friendly or helpful or knowledgeable in any way. thousands of people visit disneyland from all over the world and I just could not believe that the staff lacked this kind of customer service. I could overlook the pricey restaurants at the hotel but i would rather stay at the many hotels across the street. at least i get a free breakfast and a hotel staff that is actually happy that i am staying at their hotel.
