The fitness center includes computerized aerobicycles, free weights, multi-gym, rowing machines, stair climbers, stationary bikes, and treadmills. Features
What to expect: From the fresh flowers and original works of art in its grand colonnaded lobby to its brightly lit rooms with a view, this high-rise hotel on Burrard Inlet projects an air of quiet sophistication. Vacationers and business travelers alike appreciate the panoramic views of city and harbor as well as the hotel's proximity to both the business district and major Vancouver attractions. Amenity highlights: Off the third floor, a large flower-and-herb garden beckons strollers. In addition, an expansive 3,400-square-foot outdoor deck with a 50-foot pool overlooks the city and harbor. Guests also can use the spa and fitness center. Corporate travelers appreciate access to the business center with its computers and high-speed Internet access. Insider tip: The hotel is less than a half-mile from a Helijet helicopter terminal on the waterfront, offering flightseeing tours of the harbor and mountains of the North Shore. Tours range in length from 8 to 45 minutes. Regularly scheduled flights to the provincial capital of Victoria are also offered. The Fairmont Waterfront recently employed a handsome, playful, four-legged employee to act as hotel ambassador. Morgan, the black Labrador retriever, greets guests outside the hotel lobby and accompanies them on strolls throughout the city. Morgan has received "The Royal Pat" from Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, during her Royal Jubilee visit in October 2002.
Morgan works some doggone good shifts, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, complete with morning and afternoon naps (he gets weekends off). Simply phone the front door to book a convenient time for walking or playing with Morgan. Morgan's services are complimentary. However, a "stoop and scoop" is often necessary during a walk. A puppy pack, complete with water, treats, and plastic bag, is provided by the hotel.
Herons Restaurant - A fireplace and bird's-eye maple wall paneling create a warm, intimate atmosphere in this smartly casual fine-dining restaurant. Diners enjoy Asian-influenced Pacific Northwest cuisine and panoramic views of the harbor and Stanley Park through floor-to-ceiling windows. Longtime menu favorites include baby spinach salad as well as a "Giant Alaskan Scallop and Tiger Prawn Saltimbocca" flavored with herbs from the hotel garden. Serves three meals daily, including buffet and à la carte breakfasts. Herons Lounge - Light meals and snacks are available in this lobby lounge offering views of the harbor and live piano music on weekends.

| If there is a competitor for Fairmont Gold level service we've never found it. From the floor level lounge with breakfast or evening cocktails and private roof top deck to the conscierge knowledge of restaurants and leisure options there is no better traveling companion. They even have a dog in residence for you to walk if you're so disposed.

| Given the star rating this hotel just didn't cut the mustard. The hotel itself was lovely and in a great location, and the welcome from the receptionist was lovely, like she had real pride in working there. However the pillows in the room were musty and we had to ask twice before they replaced them. We order room service one evening and the burger was inedible. On the couple of times that we ate in the restaurant we were left feeling that the staff left a lot to be desired, both in therms of attitude and capability, and looking around we got the feeling that we were not the only ones who felt like this! All in all this could have been a lovely hotel, but there were just too many little things that they didn't get right.
