| Filthy room. Many safety issues. Rude staff. The scariest place I ever stayed. Straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. There are plenty of other nicer places to stay. Don't risk it.

| I didn't believe a Howard Johnson's could be as bad as the previously posted reviews of the South Bend HoJo's. I was wrong. Did no one else see mice in the rooms?

| Motel doors that open to the street. Old mattresses with no padding - I could feel the springs. Thin carpet that was several years old. Breakfast that only included breads and cereal, coffee and juice and limited dining space. Way overpriced.

| Staff were kind and efficient. Hotel is somewhat worn, but for the price it was perfectly satisfactory.

| The room I had needed some help. It was clean, but scary. There was water damage on the walls and the room was tired and run down. Someone had written (in whiteout or something) on the artwork in my room "Is it over yet?" That statement summarized my stay. While I was checking in, some guy came to the front desk trying to find a different room where the A/C worked, but returned the other room's key as its A/C was broken as well. The Hotel Lobby was fine.

| I had expected much better out of a Howard Johnson hotel. I have traveled extensively and on a budget, so I didn't expect anything extravagant. However, I did expect a few minimum requirements to be met. This hotel was very run-down. It was extremely hot in the corridors and in our room. When we turned on the air, warm air came out of the vents. We notified the desk and they said that the system was off, but they'd turn it on. They didn't. We complained three times and got no response. They let us look at two other rooms which were just as hot. So we spent two nights with the window open listening to highway traffic outside. It was so hot outside that there wasn't really any air coming in through the window. Additionally, there were people hanging out in the parking lot late at night and talking loudly. Our shower quickly filled the bath tub with about three inches of water. The continental breakfast is mostly a variety of breads from which you can make toast and a few doughnuts. The floor in the breakfast area was so sticky, our feet would get stuck if we stood there too long. The only good thing I can say about this place is that it wasn't crowded. I can see why.

| The floor and carpet was dirty. There was no hot water only lukewarm water in the shower. Make sure you bring a pair of flip flops to wear while you are walking around the room because it doesn't look very clean. Overall, it was very close to Notre Dame but the rooms could be cleaner. It also had a musty smell when you walked in.

| To be fair to the hotel, I didn't try to have them correct the situation since our stay was very brief. However, the room was very dirty and smelled of cat urine. The room by far was the worst part of a very fun weekend at Notre Dame.

| I only stayed there because I knew I would be there for a few hours. The lost my Expedia confirmation, and then the room was run down and rickety. It was not dirty, but it didn't scream out cleanliness either.
