    Hotel Saturnia & International Amenities
Two computers on the second floor provide complimentary high-speed Internet connections. Complimentary passes are provided to a fitness center 400 meters (437 yards) from the hotel. A room off the lobby features scarlet plush-fabric seating and a wood-burning fireplace. Direct landing is possible from the canal for gondolas and motorboats. The hotel staff speaks fluent English and 80 personnel service the property.

    Recreation
The Lido of Venice, the slender, 11.5-km-long (7.25-mile-long) island facing the Adriatic Sea that lies a 15-minute waterbus ride east of central Venice, is the city's playground, especially in summer when beaches and watersports draw visitors and Venetians alike. Year-round, visitors rent bicycles to explore the island, play golf, or take horseback rides. Aside from fishing in the canals, the central city offers nothing in the way of recreational opportunities. Deep-sea fishing is available in the Adriatic Sea.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

    Features
What to expect: Owned and operated by four generations of the Serandrei family, the hotel features an intimate ambience recalling its beginning in 1908 as a pensione (guesthouse). Original decorations include those from the hotel's center, a palazzo built for Vettor Pisani (1324-1380), who commanded the Venetian Republic's navy during conflicts with Genoa over control of Mediterranean merchant trading.

Amenity highlights: In summer, a fourth-floor terrace furnished with lounge chairs, showers, and flowers offers sunbathing with views of Venice rooftops and several churches. The hotel's independently operated, candlelit restaurant, La Caravella, has attracted Venetians and visitors since 1963 with a ship's-dining-room decor, flower-filled courtyard in summer, and Venetian menu. The restaurant includes a marble-floored bar with leather seating.

Insider tip: Guests emerging from the hotel's entrance face Bruno Magli and Bulgari shops directly across the street, one of the widest in Venice's historical center.

A complimentary buffet breakfast is provided each morning in a room with an elaborately molded ceiling.

La Caravella - Established in 1963. Wood-paneled interior recreating Renaissance-era Venetian ship's dining room, including massive safe from ship named La Caravella. Candles, fresh flowers. Lunch/dinner menu includes traditional Venetian fare, with emphasis on seafood. Flower-filled-courtyard seating in summer.

La Caravella Bar - Marble floor, leather seats, dark-wood paneling. Old wine-bottle display. Open during lunch/dinner hours.

I was only disapointed in that I would of liked to have stayed on a waterfront hotel. But I was so impressed with the service that I would not wanted to have given that up for a different hotel. We were treated great by all of the staff and our group had a wonderful experience at the hotel.

A very good location for seeing Venice, close to St. Marks Square but not so close that the swarms of people are near the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful

I expected more out of a 4 star hotel, but the reality is that this hotel is more like a 3 star hotel. Venice's hotels and buildings are all old so don't have high expectations. The hotel staff are very helpful and gave us directions and help whenever we required. The hotel location is superb only 5 minutes walk away from san marco square. The breakfast was pretty good. I would stay there again because of the price/location ratio is just unbeatable.

The location is good, it is close to St. Mark's square. Breakfast was the best part of the stay. The rooms are quite traditional, and if you have back problems, the worst bed I have had in a hotel. The bed frame makes noises every time you turn. Actually, if you want to see Venice, just take the train and have a day trip, or stay only one night, otherwise you are wasting money.

The location was great, however I expected more for the money and the 4 star rating. The rooms were small and the floor sqeeks. There were bugs in the bathroom every morning. If it was cheaper I would say go for it, however with the amount of hotels to choose from look around...

Clean and open. The staff were super helpful, and the bathroom was enormous. My boyfriend was happy to find CNN on the TV. There is a great deck on the top of the hotel when you need a little quiet away from Venice. Comfy chairs, both in the shade and sun, look out upon the rooftops of Venice. Fantastic!

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed it very much. Great location - just a short walk to/from the water bus stop - only one bridge to cross with your luggage. The room, however a little outdated, was large, very quiet and clean. The bathroom was just okay. Remember though, you're in Venice and not hanging out in the room all day. The staff was very friendly and helped in any way they could. Would stay there again for our next trip.

This was our 11th trip to Venice and this was by far the nicest hotel we've stayed at. Great location, large rooms, wnderful & bountiful breakfast buffet, extremely friendly staff. We can't wait to book our next trip to Venice and the Saturnia.

Really nice hotel in a prime location for a venice visit. Within 2 blocks of public ferries/waterbus so walking with luggage is not bad (there is one small bridge) but water taxi service can take you to the back/side door of the hotel. Quaint but clean and relatively modern.
