| This is certainly a no-frills hotel, and the customer service from the desk staff was hit and miss throughout my 4-night stay. But they do a good job of keeping your room clean (not a huge job given the size of the rooms!). And it is in a great location, very close to the Common and whatnot. And the price is right. So if you don't want or expect frills the Milner Hotel might be right for you.

| We found the Milner to be quite convenient for the price we paid. The location was good, plenty of access to T stations, right on the Boston Common. The room was small, but when all you need is a clean, comfortable place to sleep between days of sight-seeing, small is fine. The staff was courteous and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. Our only complaint was the semi-functioning vending machines in the basement, but there are worse things.

| The rooms are very small. The room I stayed in had the bathroom right next to a window and the window did not have any blinds or coevering. it was just warped glass which i found to be a bit disconcerting. check-in time was a bit inconvenient but thankfully they'll check your bags while you can wander around the neghborhood to pass the time until check-in time.

| Seeing as the hotel was right in downtown Boston, the price for the room was very competitive. If you're okay with a double bed (which was fine for me and my fiancé) then the room is very comfortable. However, the room itself was not overly large, so if you need your space to spread out, you might want someplace else. My only other concerns were the hot water taking a while to kick in (although once it did, I had a nice hot shower) and the lack of restocking for the continental breakfast. My fiancé and I got there near the end, and there was hardly any milk left. However, on the whole, I would stay at the hotel again, as it suited my needs for the night I was there.

| This is an old hotel in Boston's Theater District, and it's not that easy to find. (About 1/2 the cab-drivers I used had no idea where it was.) I think it has a two-star rating, and that's about what it's worth. The room was small -- there is literally not enough room to swing a cat (not that I would!). There was a rack for hanging a few clothes, but no actual wardrobe. The plumbing was fine. The room was cleaned well and promptly, but that's about it. The corridors are narrow, and services are limited. The desk staff seemed to be local college students. They were polite and helpful, but there aren't many of them (expect to carry your own bags) and they seemed to work really long hours. Aside from the theaters, there is a wide variety of restaurants in the area, and it's only about a 1/2 mile from Chinatown, so it's an interesting location, but it's not the best or cleanest area in town.

| This hotel isn't for everybody. It is older and smaller than just about every other hotel in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful and were more than willing to make suggestions and point out directions. If you are going to Boston to see Boston and not to live in your hotel room, this is a wonderful hotel to stay in.

| Not only was this the smallest hotel room in the world, in which a single bed/myself/tv was the maximum possible occupancy, but I was locked out of it every day of my stay. Something to do with the access card being canceled each time the maid went in - apparently normal. Staff were indifferent at best and though the room was clean that was only to be expected ... a full clean top to bottom would have taken no more than 3 minutes. Add to that the fact that it was located on the landing of the fire escape stairs (quite odd) and the early wake up call at 4am from the garbage collection in the yard below, and it was an ideal stay. Oh yes, and no guests are allowed up to the room - presumably because any more than one person in there constitutes a fire hazard. Worth a visit as a tourist attraction - room 413. One at a time though ....

| Milner is a very quaint hotel, very old (1877). Rooms are very small like many hotels of that era. No handicap accessability for those that need it. Has no internet room but hookup in your room is available. Nice food court 1 block away. Staff friendly but not good at providing directions. It's clean but no frills if that's what you're looking for.
