We stayed in a more expensive hotel in Anchorage for our first five days and then transferred. We really liked the Ramada in Downtown Anchorage much more than the expensive one. Plus, they had free internet! When we go back (and we will)and aren't on a company expense account, we will stay at the Ramada.

Anchorage is very expensive and this hotel is no exception. Unfortunately this hotel offers packages to cruise ship clientele and our hotel was over run with people. They didn't have the room that we had booked and gave us a choice between a hadicapped room or a corner. We chose the corner and it was really small. Nice view, clean, but small. The front desk staff was courteous but frazzled. You could probably do better with a nonchain establishment.

The Anchorage Ramada was very close to everything in the downtown area within easy walking distance. The size of the room was spacious, included refrigerator, microwave, ironing board and iron (if you really need that), and wifi internet accessability, as well as computers near the desk for customer use. The continential breakfast was one of the best I have seen, including waffles, bisquits and gravy, as well as other breakfast choices. I was also appreciative of the shuttle accommodations, and the ability of the hotel to store your luggage until you needed them. The only downside was traffic noise as it is on the intersection of major roads, and with close proximity to the seaplanes and jets taking off from the Air Force Base. Those, however were minor inconviences.

This was a great hotel with really nice staff. It was not in the best place of downtown but it was easy to get to. The breakfast was AMAZING, the best we have ever had. The only down side was the room was VERY VERY hot, almost 90 degrees and there was no air conditioning only a small fan to keep the room cool. In Alaska you do not come to stay in the hotel. It was a very nice hotel with friendly people. We would go back in a heartbeat. Enjoy!

Although the rooms are on the smaller side, the staff was friendly and it's located really close to a great salsa club and the rest of downtown Anchorage.

The staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was basic and the orange juice tasted bad. No pool or restaurant. Heating system was loud. However, all the staff was very friendly and made up for the negatives. I may stay there again if they offer low rates.
