Features
What to expect: This centrally located, 14-story hotel is popular with fans attending sporting events at Qualcomm Stadium, two miles away. Other guests include families visiting nearby universities, convention groups, and leisure travelers on a budget. The lobby has elegant accents, such as marble floors, murals of historic missions, and a winding staircase with brass banisters. Amenity highlights: A wall painted with swaying palm trees gives the second-floor pool patio a tropical feel. The hotel's fitness center is equipped with cardio machines and free weights. A complimentary shuttle is available upon request to take guests to the trolley stop and shopping malls. Business travelers appreciate the hotel's menu planning service, audio-visual rentals, and 20,000 square feet of meeting space. Insider tip: Two malls are across the highway from the hotel. Fashion Valley Center offers such stores as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Williams-Sonoma. Next door, the older Misson Valley Center has Loehman's, Nordstrom Rack, and a 20-screen movie theater. Guests may take the hotel's complimentary shuttle there, but walking is preferable on weekends, when traffic around the malls is heavy.
Monterey Whaling Company - Fresh seafood, salads, pastas, and thick steaks. Tropical plants fill greenhouse-style windows and planters throughout the dining room. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Padres Pub - Sports bar off the lobby. Dark wood walls, high tables and stools, 11 satellite televisions. Complimentary happy hour hors d'oeuvres Monday through Friday. Lunch and dinner menu features burgers, sandwiches, and other pub fare.

| The rooms are pretty nice, however, the price quoted does not include parking fees and costs to connect to the internet. Hotels equally as nice just a few miles from this hotel have free parking and free internet. The costs for parking and internet amounted to approx. 15 to 20% of the total stay.

| Hilton has done a great job updating this hotel. They are very customer oriented. I had wonderful service. The room was very comfortable. It is a great location to get to all freeways and some wonderful shopping. I've stayed twice in the last 3 months and I will be back! Nice stay for a great price!

| I didn't like that when the air conditioner came on the air smelled like mildew/mold. I also didn't like that the cleaning lady did not vaccuum my room everyday. The bed was very comfortable.

| The overall hotel is not bad (i.e. carries the HILTON name) however, their reservation system is pathetic. My first night I made a reservation for 2 adults 2 children in a double room. When I got to the hotel the only thing they had was a king size bed. Four people do not fit in a king size bed. I was not charged for the night but I really did not expect that kind of problems in a HIlton hotel.

| Good location for trips to attractions at Balboa Park and downtown. Restaurant is good, but not too family oriented. If you plan to spend most of your time out exploring at the Zoo, downtown or Seaworld its a good place to stay. Plenty of local restaurants right in the area.

| Hotel chagred for everything to include the use od the internet and parking. While hotels down the road had free cable, free parking, free breakfast, and free internet. Prices of the in house resturant were very expensive. On the positive side, the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable.
