| Although the rooms are abit smaller than in the USA this hotel was wonderful. The double/queen size bed was more alike a small king. They had free internet service in the rooms and the bathroom amentities were unreal. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, several different types of shampoo and a heated toiled seat with special shower/bidet. Plenty of outlets in the room and you didn't need converters if you are from the USA. Tea kettle was very nice. I would bring your own coffee singles, creamer and some unbreakable coffee mugs if you are a coffee drinker. There isn't a lot of room for clothing. Closets are there but no drawers. The rooms are very quiet. Elevators quiet. Service is great. Breakfast buffet is great although about $24 it will hold you until dinnertime. This hotel also has a free shuttle to and from the Kyoto train station. It is also a site for the Sunrise tour bus pick ups. I would definately stay here again.

| Pretty typical Japanese 3-star hotel - very clean, very friendly staff, nice but small rooms, expensive in-hotel restaurant. The building is older, and I prefer a location down by the river, but being across the street from the Nijo Palace (my favorite attraction in all Japan) doesn't hurt. 2 minute walk from the subway to the river area (2 stops, 3 stops to Gion). Shuttle to the JR Kyoto Station every 15 minutes is handy.

| This is a really nice hotel with excellent service. It's right across the street from Nijo Castle (which is definitely worth the visit) and adjacent to a subway stop. However, for almost any of the other Kyoto sights, you're going to have to travel quite a bit to get there. Overall, I'd say we had a great experience here and would recommend it to others.
