Live entertainment is presented nightly in various places around the resort. Wednesday evenings, a folkloric dance show is presented on an open-air terrace. Two lobby kiosks provide high-speed Internet access (surcharge).

A 149-square-meter (1,600-square-foot) health spa offers massage, body wraps and scrubs, facials, and nail care. An expansive air-conditioned fitness center contains spinners, cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights and includes an aerobics/yoga studio.

    Recreation
The resort's ocean frontage sweeps around a blunt peninsula and features a private beach on each side of the peninsula. One beach slopes 68.5 meters (75 yards) to a 36.5-meter-wide (40-yard-wide) section lapped by the sea. Prime snorkeling lies off this beach within a flat-water area bordered on the offshore side by a long, curved dock and on the inland side by coral-reef outcroppings. A 137-meter (150-yard) sand terrace adjoins the beach. The other beach lies some 366 meters (400 yards) away and measures 91 meters (100 yards) wide. Thatched shades line the beaches and terrace.

For freshwater swimming, a lagoon-style pool meanders 76 meter (250 feet), splitting into two infinity edges that overlook the sea. Isolated on one end of the resort, a star-shaped children's pool measures 18-by-18-meters (60-by-60-feet) and includes waterspouts and playground equipment.

A water sports and dive center rents kayaks, personal watercraft, pedal boats, and small sailboats; provides beginner's and certification diving instruction; conducts snorkeling trips and reef, wreck, wall, and night dives; and offers water skiing. Complimentary introductory scuba-diving demonstrations are provided in the pool.

Use of two lighted tennis courts and a lighted sea-view miniature golf course is complimentary. Aerobics and yoga classes are offered in the fitness center.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the resort; fees may apply.

    Features
What to expect: Occupying 23 acres of a blunt peninsula, the resort offers panoramic sea views, particularly from the peninsula's broad end, which is swept by sea breezes, graced by cactus gardens and a lighted miniature-golf course, and features Sunset Rock, which has concrete bleachers facing west. Families and couples come to the resort for restful holidays with plenty of space, fresh air, and sunshine.

Amenity highlights: Each side of the resort's peninsula features a private beach. One slopes 68.6 meters (75 yards) to a 37-meter-wide (40-yard-wide) section lapped by the sea. In the resort's center, a lagoon-style pool meanders 76 meter (250 feet), splitting into two infinity edges overlooking the sea. A star-shaped 18-by-18-meter (60-by-60-foot) children's pool includes waterspouts.

Insider tip: The restored battlements of Fort Piscadera Bay lie within the resort. Nearby is Captain Bligh's Bar, named for a Captain John Bligh who led a 19th-century English force that briefly dislodged the Dutch from the fort. Bligh's Beer is brewed and served at the resort.

While the staff were great and the hotel's common areas were well kept, the rooms my friends and I occupied were musty. This odor never abated during the 10 days of our stay.

I have to admit, everything about this hotel was perfect except for the food. the food was edible, but not great. The hotel staff, particularly the pool bar staff was very accomodating and personable. It is such a beautiful location, it was hard to leave.

The Curacao Hilton was laid back, with a great beach and a beatiful view of the ocean. The rooms were decent, but one chooses this hotel for it's beach location. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

The personnel at the Hilton were excellent in customer service and friendliness. They went out of their way to help in every request. My husband and I spent 7 nights there and were disappointed in the condition of the room. Carpeting was stained and there was a dampness about everything. A damp smell permeated the room.

I have stayed at this hotel before. My concern is slow service at the restaurant and the bar. First day I waited 45 minutes for a fried egg (Ordered a la carte). At lunch I was served a dish I did not order and accepted it, not because I wanted it but because I felt pity for the young waitress, who did not understand a word english. The following morning I ordered again a fried egg with an english muffin. I got three muffins and no egg. When I eventually received the egg I was billed $4 more than the day before(same breakfast). I ordered wine to my last dinner. I got one glass, ordered another and never saw the waitress again. Had to turn to the host and I got a complimentary glass of wine to the coffee. Certainly room for improvements!
