Features
What to expect: You’ll feel like you’ve come home each time you walk under the awning and step into the flower-filled lobby of this quaint hotel nestled on a quiet residential street. Elegant but not stuffy, the colonial decor and homey touches make this a perfect spot for those desiring a quiet retreat from the city center.

Amenity highlights: Whatever it lacks in size, this little gem makes up for in a truly inviting and warm atmosphere. The outdoor terrace offers little tables for snacking or reading the complimentary newspaper, and the sun room and breakfast area offer plenty of space for entertaining guests or playing a game with the family. The 24-hour front desk will be happy to provide some business amenities, but if you need more extensive services, the sister hotel offers access to a business center for a $5 fee. Best of all, you enjoy those personal touches that larger hotels don’t afford, such as complimentary beverages and cookies available throughout the day. The genuinely spacious guestrooms feature the amenities of any three-star hotel, including a work desk with data port, 24-hour sports and news channels, and a refrigerator.

Insider tip: Step outside and join the walking tour of the many embassies just blocks from here, including the enchanting (and must-see) Thai and French embassies. Many former presidents made their temporary homes in this area—some neighboring buildings were home to presidents Harding and Wilson.

Hotel lounge - The lounge offers complimentary beverages and cookies during the afternoons and a wine and cheese reception on Tuesday nights.

À la carte service is available from nearby restaurants.

Nearby restaurants include:

La Tomate - Excellent Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner.

City Lights of China - Sample the best of China for lunch and dinner.

Ruths Chris Steak House - Upscale steak house.

Zorba's - Greek cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.

The hotel itself was excellent: clean and comfortable. The wireless internet was a nice touch. The neighborhood in Dupont Circle is very active, with tons of places to eat and shop. The only drawback is that it is a hike to the nearest metro station. It's not all that far, but coming back from the station to the hotel is uphill. Not fun in the heat after a long day.

A little smaller than some, All conveniences, Free wireless in Lobby, Free Ethernet in room. A lot cheaper than other comps. 5 mins to numerous restaurants/shops. Another block to Metro at Dupont Circle - I'd go back in a heartbeat

Very nice small hotel in Kalorama - elegant area near DuPont Circle. Hotel has lovely sitting rooms for reading, watching tv, even bring a meal back to eat instead of being in hotel. Neighborhood nice and worth walking around to see embassies and chanceries. Not a lot of amenities but for the price and location in can't be beat.

Hotel was nestled back from the road and blended in with surrounding neighborhood - we almost missed it! Concierge was very polite, friendly, and accommodating and allowed us an early check in around mid-day to freshen up from our morning touring. Room was cozy, as anticipated, but perfect for a short stay. The room was in good order, clean, and had all the necessities; coffeemaker, TV, shower items, mini fridge, and ironing board, and thanks to Expedia, we got a great deal! Concierge graciously directed us towards the small, but secure, underground parking area ($20/night). Hotel lobby was beautifully decorated and again, very cozy, with an old-world lushness and tiny back patio. Fresh coffee was available all afternoon. We chose to go for breakfast elsewhere, but I am sure that it would have been pleasant. Additional hotel features such as pool and work-out room were available at a sister hotel not 2 blocks down (but honestly, we were too busy to even consider) Check-out was fast and easy, and again, the concierge was very helpful in locating the address of a local attraction we wanted to see on the way out of time. Would definitely stay again. Only two things that could be improved on would be: we were missing bathrooms shower cap and the hallways were slightly warm compared to rooms and lobby (of course, it was about 99 degrees that week).

I was delighted with the charm and ambiance of the lobby, the reading room, and, of course, my room accomodations, as well. The coffee and homemade cookies added the personal touch. Everyone I spoke to was helpful beyond duty. I was given directions, had money changed, was given extra personal items when requested, all with smiles and gracious hospitality. I have already recommended Jurys Normandy Inn to the travel director of my church group, as well as several friends. I couldn't have been happier!

Great place to stay-pleasant,charming, very conveniently located. A 15-20 minure walk to the metro, Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan- another 30-40 minutes will put you on the National Mall. The hotel's Kalorame Heights neighborhood is home to many exqusite embassy residences.

A very nice place, quiet, sophisticated without being pretentious. The staff is very courteous and the $6 (as of 7/06) breakfast option is a great deal. Wine and cheese on some weeknights too! The only downside is the 10+ minute walk to the Dupont Circle metro (uphill when coming back) but this is not an unreasonable walk by any means and is a very small price to pay for an otherwise convenient, reasonably priced, safe and charming hotel.

Stay here for 5 nights over the July 4th holiday...the nearest Metro station, Dupont Circle is about a 15min walk away...nice shops and restaurants along Connecticut Avenue, didn't have to worry about crime or unsavory characters, even at 4am in the morning, felt safe walking in this area, not like other part of town (the southeast area should be avoided). The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating, and over all very professional and helpful. I would stay here again.

Hotel earns its 3 stars for service & atmosphere. Be prepared for a very small room; okay if you're not spending much time there. Close to Dupont Circle to access the muni; however, it is an uphill walk coming back. Many restaurants in area. Hopefully the carpets have been cleaned by now; after wearing white sox in the room for two hours, they were really dirty.
