| Friendly, very helpful staff - changed our room easily. Main building, with terrific restaurant, is beautiful and comfortable. The raquet club across the parking lot is a good facility. Rooms, however, are badly in need of update. Tempurpedic beds are nice but didn't make up for ancient bathroom, locker-room style shower, and generally dingy condition of room and halls. Lots of street noise in rooms on the north side of the hotel.

| Nice older hotel with lots of character and lovely grounds. Chairs are spread over lawn and patio areas so you can enjoy time outside. Rooms with 2 queens are in wing away from pool and the king rooms are poolside. King rooms had balconies or patios. Queen rooms at lower level seemed a bit musty but we moved to the ground floor level and the room was very nice. There is considerable freeway noise if your windows are open or when you are at the pool, but rooms are quiet otherwise. Close to the beach, just down the hill and under the overpass. Nice continental breakfast which you can upgrade for a minimal fee.

| The room was bigger than I thought. I got a great price through Expedia. I just wish we could have stayed longer to really enjoy what all the hotel has to offer. The bathroom needs some updating but overall I would absolutely want to stay here again. Actually I'm thinking about a possible 3-5 day vacation here next year since it has so much and the beach is a block away. We had a freeway view and partial ocean but it was very quiet in the room. Also, the breakfast was wonderful!!! Thank you.

| We thought the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. Loved the continental breakfast! The freeway is noisy when you are outside but we had no trouble sleeping. I would stay here again.

| A nice setting with a good restaurant and bar area. But my room was much too hot, the thermostat didn't work. The maintenance man came in and fiddled and left - not fixed. They moved me to a next door room. This time it was too cold, and again the thermostat didn't work. But, assuming you get a room with a working thermostat, it's a pretty nice place.

| We were given a room down a dark outdoor walkway past the ice and beverage machines. the room had no feng shui. The queen size bed had only one nightstand and lamp next to it. The armoir with the television was placed directly next to the bed and when the doors to the armoire were open you could not pass beside the bed to get to the bathroom. You also could not comfortably lie in bed to watch television and there was no sight line from either of the chairs in the room The bathroom had no fan and little ventilation. The room had a ceiling fan but if you opened the sliding door to catch a cross breeze you were facing the pool and had no privacy. I had to go to the fromt desk to get a DSL cord for our laptop and once it was plugged in it created a danger on one side of the bed to the desk because the cord was not long enough to reach the floor. It stretched about 3 feet above the floor and about 8 inches from the wall so someone could trip into it. The room was spacious enough to have better furniture placement so that it would work for 2 adults to be comfortable in.

| I was delighted by my stay at the charming Pierpont Inn, and found it extremely welcoming and well-situated. The breathtaking walks along the beach only a block away from the historic hotel were a highlight for me and taking in the myriad the surfers in the ocean. Downtown Ventura is also within a 15 minutes walk of the hotel. I found the hotel to be an excellent value, the room was spacious and very comfortable, and service was extremely friendly and courteous. The room was immaculate and cleaned almost immediately after my putting a sign out. Turn down service at night was an extra plus. Though the hotel is close to the highway, inside the room was quite calm. The Pierpont also provides access to the adjacent racquet and fitness club for a nominal fee, and the facilities there are excellent with state of the art of equipment and a wide array of classes including pilates, water aerobics, strength training, and yoga.

| We stayed in the old part of the hotel which really needs to be updated. Definitely below our expectations for this place. It is also right on the freeway and very noisy. The grounds are nice, but too noisy to talk at a comfortable level.

| This hotel seems to lean right over Hwy 101. The historic location does not make for the noise and bad service. The windows closed with great difficulty and the traffic does not stop. We were put in a connecting room with a little girls softball team next door (no parents in the room next door), extremely noisy, the front desk did nothing when asked to assist us...I would never return to this hotel.

| Gorgeous grounds, listed in Historic Hotels of America, polite and professional service, comfortable room,in-room fire place, fine continental breakfast, racquet club and spa. Next to the freeway: very noisy; you cannot sit by your own terrace or open windows and avoid the noise; staing there in colder months should be best. Also, hallways and corridors need maintenance. Otherwise it would be an ideal place.
