i was eager to visit this place since many years ago. but i was much dissapointed . first the whole island is filled of mosquitos, too many, constantly. i can't stand this. the rooms needed much renovation, it looked a little old. the beach as compared to other beaches in the island was really dirty and not cristal clear. but i must admit, other beaches in this island are the most refreshing and cristal clear i've ever been to. and i've been in aruba 4 times. i can't recommend this hotel in particular but there are plenty of other good hotel (cant make reference to) which are extremely good, you can also stay in st. thomas and take the ferry to st. john in order to enjoy these beautifull beaches the island has to give. there are plenty of them , and they are classified as a national reserve. these beaches are really worth swimming at. hope my experience is helpfull to you.

I booked a Garden View room on Expedia, but we had an ocean view 1 bedroom suite upon arrival - nice surprise! The grounds are immaculate and most of the service people were nice, some had attitudes. Food and drinks are VERY expensive, so be prepared. Front desk people have no clue what they're doing and their "moment" is literally a half hour-they say they're too busy to help you and no one's even there! The birds at the marina are funny - Max whistles the theme to Andy Griffith every morning and Esmerelda talks and blows kisses! The best meal we had was at Stone Terrace; not impressed by the food at Caneel Bay or Asolare, but the views were beautiful. Chloe and Bernard's (at the hotel)was very good, but hot because it's open air . Breakfast buffet is good, but overpriced. We never made it to the south or east beaches, but heard they were good for snorkeling. Watch out driving, the islanders drive down the middle of the road and there is a reason the speed limit is 10 or 20 - hairpin turns, 45 degree inclines - a little scary, but worth it (and stay left!) This was my fantasy vacation and it lived up to my expectations - the only place I've been that can compare is Hawaii, on a larger scale. The most beautiful beaches I've ever seen - St. John is truly paradise. Can't wait to go back!!

Asked for a wake-up all, did not get it. Did not get any of my messages, callers transferred to other rooms. Staff not very helpful or friendly. For the amount of money of paid, I expected better service and not so many critters in my room! The beach and pool, however were decent and the daily iguana feedings really impressed my kids.

Overall it wasn't a bad trip, but I certainly ran into almost all of the good and bad that other reviewers have noted. The good.. the Cruz Bay watersport staff are GREAT and run fun, efficient and well coordinated events/tours. They were great folks and a lot of fun. Overall I am frustrated with the Westin, and specifically the poor housekeeping (not done 3 days in a row) and the ferry schedule. They changed the ferry location on us midday, and if we hadn't called about it we would have wandered off to the wrong place, no ferry etc etc. The Westin is probably the most expensive (per night) hotel I have stayed at in a lot of years of world wide travel.. and they didn't really meet my expectations. Not bad.. but certainly not fantastic. I will say that the spa staff was great, and the grounds are immaculate and beautiful.

Our vacation to St. John's Westin Resort was wonderful. The hotel's rooms and grounds are kept in excellent condition. The staff is helpful and the island is beautiful. One suggestion would be to rent your vehicle on St. John not on St. Thomas. For snorklers the hike to Leinster Bay and Waterlemon Cay is worth it (about .8 mile on a flat trail). Other snorkling beaches are within a few yards of the parking lots. There are many little shops to explore and an open air market in the town's park near the boat ferry dock.

Our room was huge with a great view of the ocean. The sheets & bed were extremely comfortable, but the bathrooms could use a remodel. Room refrigerators included. Although the beach was nice, there was an odor to the water. Walking down the beach, I found a drainage pipe running into the water. Not such a great site in paradise. The Westin was a good place for "base camp", but far better beaches exist elsewhere on the island.

The service was great but the rooms were very average. The pool and beach were also good but not impressive. The food and drinks were good but very expensive. Don't go here if your looking for lots of excitement. However, if your looking to just get away for a few days and relax, this resort should meet your expectations.

Nice relaxing place to stay. Mix of young couples, families, and older couples. Grounds were beautiful and neatly manicured. Pool and beach were nice as well. Not too much to do after dark on the resort, or even in town for that matter. Staff was always very nice and helpful.

We were upgraded to one of the hotel suites with a ocean view. The suit was incredible. The resort itself is totally beautiful. The staff went out of their way to help us. From the maid staff to the security staff to the main hotel staff, all were eager to help in any way they could. All were also incrediblely curtious. When we did eat at the resorts rsetaurants, we found the food and wait staff to be fantastic.
