Features
What to expect: From inside the sleek lobby, it’s hardly evident that the hotel is connected to a shopping mall. Business people congregate at the spiffy bar at one end of the lobby, while shoppers tend to prefer the buffets in the breezy brasserie. Guests are mainly corporate types, but sports team members who enjoy the extra-high ceilings can be seen here, as well.

Amenity highlights: The Grill offers intimate dining by candlelight. When games are on, guests can escape to The Lobby Lounge, which has wide-screen TV. There is a fitness center on site, and passes to nearby fitness centers such as Bally's are available (surcharge). In addition to Macy’s and other mall shops, a post office is right outside the lobby.

Insider tip: Guests can cross the street to the Metro stop (7th Street/Metro Center) to catch either the Red Line to Hollywood and Universal City, or the Blue Line to Long Beach, the Queen Mary, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, and the ferry terminal to Catalina Island. Both are direct routes, with no transfer necessary.

The Brasserie: Lavish buffets, a pasta bar, and salad bar are offered for breakfast and lunch in this large bistro that opens onto the mall.

The Grill: Candlelight dining is a pleasure in this intimate, upscale, dinner-only restaurant that showcases steaks, chops, and seafood.

The Lobby Lounge: Occupying one end of the lobby, this popular bar serves appetizers, bottled ales, wine, and cocktails in a casual setting.

This hotel was perfect for what we needed. Something nice and comfortable yet easy to walk to the Staples Center for a show.

Positive Note: Nice and very clean hotel, rooms are average size but comfortable, good downtown location accessible to freeways and public transportation, and is connected to Macy's Plaza Shopping Mall Negative Note: No refrigerator in rooms, no free internet access, hotel parking is very expensive, bottled water in room is very expensive, hotel is in business district which almost everthing closes down around 7:30pm.

Great hotel accommodations. Comfortable rooms (as always), spacious bathroom, cozy beds, elegant lobby sitting area & fast response time to request from house-keeping. Another great accommodation is the access to Macy's & other stores through the lobby.

I thought I was getting a great deal, but the suite was in definite need of a refurbishment. It looked old and tired. No mini-bar in the room, window coverings in need of repair, and no remote control for the TV in the living area. Small details perhaps, but really I expected more. While the lobby/reception area, lounge, and staff were nice enough, I would still not recommend a repeat visit.

The hotel is nice and there is a 3 story Macy's department store as well as several other stores in the lower levels of the building which is nice if you have to get something from a clothing store. There is an IHOP across the street and a Rite Aid if you need something form a mini mart while you are staying there. There were not enough outlet plugs in the room for everything like laptop, cell charger, hairdryer, and such. We had to unplug a lamp to make do. Extra Charges: What they don't tell you ahead of time is that the parking is $22 a day for self parking in an attached garage but is not that close to hotel elevators. You can pay $24 a day for valet at the hotel which would probably be the better deal just for the convenience. Also the charge to use the wireless internet seems a little excessive at $12.95 a day. Overall it was a nice hotel though and the comfortable bed was key.

This was the first hotel I ever stayed at in Los Angeles. The hotel was very clean and the staff was polite and professional. The rooms were furnished well and the beds extremely comfortable. The airconditioner worked well and the room even had a small window to open for those who don't like to run the air all night long. In the immediate area were several stores to shop for all your needs including a Macy's department store. Additionally, there are several quality restaraunts in the area. A Starbucks and Coffee Bean are within walking distance as are Bally's and Golds Gym. My only bad experience during my stay, was that a hotel staff member "banged" on my door to give me wake up call at 5 am, which I did not request. All in all, the hotel is provided everything I needed for a great rate.

The Sheraton is an older LA hotel with a run-of- the-mill lobby. However, the rooms are great for business travelers on a budget. Big comfortable bed, lots of pillows; an iron and ironing board in the room; a big bathroom.

Very nice hotel, beds very comfy, just don't stay in the room next to the elevator. You can hear it going up and down all night. Otherwise, very nice hotel and very nice staff.

This was our third stay in downtown Los Angeles in the last 4 months. Tried a different hotel each time. This one is the best choice for value and location that we found so far. A little unusual in the layout as it is built into a mall. So some shopping is at your front door. But it is right across the street from a major Metro hub so transportation is very good. The size of the room is much larger than the older traditional downtown hotels and the price was excellent.
