Concord's Colonial Inn and Extended Stay Suites Amenities
The original building was constructed by one of Concord’s earliest settlers in 1716. Former residents included Henry David Thoreau before the property was converted to a hotel in 1889. The inn provides a walking guide to the many local Revolutionary War and literary landmarks. On site is a gift shop with postcards, books, maps, and tourist information. The inn’s six function rooms are individually decorated in Colonial style, and are popular for meetings, banquets, and wedding parties. Multiple dining venues include tearooms, taverns, and full-service restaurants, as well as alfresco seating on the front porch in summer. A high tea with homemade scones, sandwiches, and an assortment of teas is served on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays in the Thoreau Room.

Recreation
Guests have discounted access to the Gold’s Gym 1 mile away, which has fitness equipment, classes, and an indoor pool. Less than two miles from the hotel is legendary Walden Pond, which offers swimming, boating, hiking, and bird watching. The Minuteman Trail, about two miles away, is an 11-mile paved path popular for biking, jogging, walking, and in-line skating. Because the trail isn’t plowed in wintertime, it’s also ideal for cross-country skiing. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: Steeped in history and meticulously maintained--it is a National Trust Historic Hotel of America--the Colonial Inn exudes the warmth of a gracious New England home. The sitting room’s antique furnishings, patterned wallpaper, and decorative fireplace are accented by engravings depicting Revolutionary War scenes. A guestbook on display shows Franklin D. Roosevelt’s signature among notable visitors. Today, business travelers and leisure guests are commonplace. Amenity highlights: This historic inn overlooking Concord’s Monument Square is uniquely situated among numerous Revolutionary War–era and literary landmarks. Within a mile are the former residences of literary luminaries including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Louisa May Alcott, as well as the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery where they were buried. Also less than a mile away is the Old North Bridge, where the “shot heard ’round the world” was fired. Insider tip: Room 24 has a decorative fireplace, four-poster king bed, Monument Square view—and ghostly reputation. Witnesses over the years claim to have seen apparitions, and speculation abounds on likely candidates. A favored suspect is a Revolutionary War physician who tended to wounded soldiers at the Inn around 1775.
Merchant’s Row Restaurant/Main Dining Room - White linen tablecloths, leather-backed armchairs, dark-wood columns, and lantern-style light fixtures. Menu emphasizing traditional New England cuisine such as chicken pot pie and Indian pudding, as well as creative seafood specialties including filet of sole stuffed with Portuguese sausage and clams. Desserts, pastries, and breads baked daily from scratch. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus Sunday brunch buffet. Liberty Restaurant - Overlooking Monument Square. Working fireplace, richly patterned wallpaper, and paintings of the Founding Fathers. More casual than Main Dining Room, but features same menu. Open for lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. Tap Room - Low, exposed-beam ceilings and a large-screen TV for sports events. Appetizers, light fare, and drinks, including four on-tap beers. Open from afternoon into the evening. Thoreau Room - Intimate venue—formerly the inn's bakery—resembles an old-fashioned parlor, with French doors on either end and a wide cabinet displaying intricately decorated teacups. High tea, consisting of homemade scones, sandwiches, and an assortment of exotic teas, served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons at the long communal table. Village Forge Tavern - Popular local gathering place with beamed ceilings, brick hearth, wraparound bar, and lively old-world atmosphere. Nightly live entertainment with an emphasis on jazz and folk music. Drinks and pub fare evenings until late night.
Complimentary entertainment is offered Tuesday–Sunday evenings, including jazz, Dixieland, bluegrass, and country-style music.

| We recently stayed at the Colonial Inn and found it a great experience. The food at the hotel is extremely good and the people are very nice. It's in the center of history. We went to attend a wedding in Boston and everyone told his make sure to do the Boston tours - we had such a great time in Concord exploring everything, we forgot all about Boston. A definate return trip is in order for this person.

| The Colonial Inn is a mixed experience: You have the look and feel of colonial Concord in a building that has been rearranged and expanded with difficulty over the years . The standard rooms are motel circa 1955 with aged TVs, variable cell phone service,( but WiFi was good), closet size baths, and open onto dark ugly hallways. The "colonial style" rooms in the old part of the hotel and in their annex are more expensive. The restaurant has standard but good food and is attractive. The staff is polite and helpful. Be prepared to carry your own luggage as there is no elevator and bell service is not evident. The covey of rooms that serve as bar and pub remind you of an old inn in the English countryside. Too bad they have not perfected the Sheperd's Pie and Ale... But the value is in the location which is central for Concord sights and shops.

| This hotel was perfect for the area. It was quaint and personal. Not the usual hotel. The room was nice and had many comforts, but the best thing about our stay was the restaurant, tavern, and the surrounding sights. We ate in the restaurant and it was fantastic. One of the best meals of our vacation! Another night we sat in the tavern and enjoyed some music by local musicians-- jazz and other "older melodies." What a great time! We also walked to the Old North Bridge for a spot of history and enjoyed walking around the town square and area.

| We definitely enjoyed our stay here, and it was not the standard, cookie cutter hotel, and was classy in its historical features. The staff was always very helpful, and we loved being in the center of the small town, close to so many historical sites. We would definitely consider staying here again, and would recommend this hotel
