Features
What to expect: Hotel Valadier stands on a quiet cobblestoned street, just off the Piazza del Popolo. The reception area has a marble floor and a lustrous black-marble desk. Adjoining the reception area is a lounge with black-leather armchairs and piano, drawing both guests and locals in the evening.

Amenity highlights: The rooftop terrace offers a peaceful respite and panoramic views of Rome’s historic center. The hotel’s highly regarded Il Valentino restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine in a refined setting. Hotel Valadier also operates the adjoining Il Brillo Parlante, a popular wine bar, café, and pizzeria.

Insider tip: This hotel is named after Giuseppe Valadier, who redesigned the Piazza del Popolo in the early 1800s. The building has an intriguing past: Originally a convent, it later became a brothel, and was converted to a hotel in the 1950s.

The hotel serves a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning.

Il Valentino - Sophisticated Mediterranean cuisine in an elegant room with cream-marble floor, cream walls, and chairs with misty-pink upholstery. Open daily for dinner only.

Breakfast Room - Breakfast buffet in a quiet room with wood-paneled walls, yellow-and-white linens, and fresh flowers.

Il Brillo Parlante - Informal café and wine bar operated by the hotel and adjacent to the main building. Vaulted cellar space with terra-cotta-tile floor, rustic wooden furniture. Popular for brick-oven-baked pizzas, fresh salads, cheeses, and roasted meats. Signature dish is Cold Roast Beef with Cherry Tomatoes and Rocket.

you get the feeling that you are on a suite of one of the luxury cruiseliners of the world; the architect must have had that idea in mind. The decor is exquisite , granite and marble floors tabletops and desk (in room) wood paneling on walls and even a luxurios ceiling work with mirrors and subtle illumination. The lobby with its sitting areas, bars, conference room, small "theater" with huge tv screen, restaurant, elevators simply done with a magnificent taste. About one block away from Piazza del Popolo, and Via del Corso, very near the Panteon, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish Steps, beautiful churches, the Vittorio Emmanuele Monument, roman forum. Excellent service. Out of 4 this jewel deserves a 10!!

Location near the Piazza del Popolo and Spanish Steps is great. Rooms are a bit worn and not as clean as they could be, but the bathrooms are a generous size and in good shape. Room size is fine for Rome and the price. Their breakfast is a great way to start the day. Be advised: the air conditioning is not turned on yet for the season, so do ask for a room with adequate ventilation. We asked to change ours, and the day staff was very accomodating. The decor has a crazy vibe, mirrors, etc., but once you get past that, it's fine. The room could have used a coat of paint. Il Brillo Parlante, next door, is wonderful, as is the Gelato place across the street.
