The Colony Restaurant - Open for English buffet breakfasts every day, the restaurant boasts views of the gardens and swimming pool. The Bull Run Restaurant - Wood and bare brickwork create a warm atmosphere in this fine-dining restaurant and terrace, serving a range of meat and seafood dishes and select wines. Open for lunch and dinner daily except Saturday lunch. The Oval Coffee Shop - Light meals, snacks, cakes, coffees and home-made soups in winter are on offer all day in the lobby café. Lord’s Cigar Bar - Solid wood furniture, chandeliers and plush upholstery characterise this bar, where guests can sample cigars from round the world and chose from a long list of cocktails. Pool Terrace - Overlooking the main swimming pool, a light menu is served during the day.

| This was my first trip to Africa, and I really enjoyed my stay at Protea Hotel Balalaika Crown Court. The professionalism of the staff is superb. The service is great, everything was fantastic. I really was quite pleased, especially as a female traveling alone for one leg of my trip, I felt very secure and comfortable. Great amenities and a good price for the quality of services provided. Good location, too, with options for dining, entertainment, and visiting more of South Africa. Their airport service contractor was very reliable and professional as well.

| The hotel is adjacent to a nice indoor mall with some excellent restaurants, shops, a movie theater, money exchange bureau -- and an Internet cafe. They have a great breakfast buffet with outdoor terrace dining if desired. Their concierge can arrange tours for you.
