Features
What to expect: Located in an area where businesses are being transformed into boutique hotels, the Pelham’s building is a historic landmark. A sizable portrait of a long-gone esquire looks down on the lobby decorated in stately gray marble flooring, ceiling-high drapes, and two statues of children with lamps. With its boutique size and side-street romantic allure, the hotel is favored by visiting couples. Amenity highlights: The Pelham provides a 700-square-foot meeting room for business travelers, and 24-hour valet parking. Insider tip: Architectural remnants of the old Board of Trade are 1 block from the hotel, and the former New Orleans city hall, an exemplary Greek Revival monument called Gallier Hall, is 3 blocks away.
The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are several dining options within the surrounding area. Nearby restaurants: Cuvee New Orleans Cafe Johnny Ryan's

| While the staff made a valiant effort to fix any problems, I can honestly say there were so many I don't have enough space here. The carpet was so dirty, when you walked on it in white socks, they turned black. A drawer was missing from the dresser. The lampshade was broken and sat precariously on top of of the lamp and would fall occasionally. A family with at least 3 small kids were living in the room next door. The shower mat was so disgusting, we put a towel over it and stood on that in the shower. There were cigarette burns all over the bedspreads and the blankets were threadbare. Don't be fooled by the pictures. This hotel is not luxurious at at all.

| The location was perfect, within walking distance of the French quarter, yet far enough away to be out of the hubbub. The rooms were comfortable, the beds especially. Two queen beds in the room did make it a little crowded, but it was still comfortable. The most impressive offering was the excellent customer service we received from the moment we checked in. Overall, would recommend and would stay there again.

| THe hotel is quaint and very charming located in an ideal place within walking distance of the French Quarter and the Riverwalk and downtown. The one complaint we had was the initial room we were in was very warm. We informed the hotel that the room temperature was 77-78 degrees and they told us to press the button again and it would work. It did not and we changed rooms the next day. After that, a lovely stay. Breakfast next door at Huey's, superb.

| No breakfast included. No internet room. No pool. Lousy shower. Garbage picked up at 0530am on the street directly below our third floor window so I lost a lot of sleep. Baggage had to be unloaded from the car on the opposite side of the street - very inconvenient. Pretty antique furniture but that's not my priority. Sorry can't recommend.

| The hospitality was severely lacking. I had to call the front desk 3 times for a room service menu. I finally had to pay a visit to the front desk myself, to obtain a menu. The shower did not work in our room. The front desk was going to allow me access to a room across the hall to take a shower. After about an hour and several phone calls (after one call the front desk rep hung up on me), a maintenance man came to fix the shower. I have heard this hotel was ranked as a 5 star hotel. I completely disagree.

| My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pelham. Everyone of the staff was friendly and helpful from checking in to recommending sites and restaurants and helping book tours. The atmosphere of the room was great. The restaurant attached to the hotel had good food and was open 24/7. We would definitely stay at the Pelham again.

| The room we had did not have a window, but that was ok. The inside of the hotel was clean and staff was courteous. The outside was ok but the street it was on (building accross ) was dirty and a lot of garbage one day a dead rat. I would more than likly stay somewhere else. Mostly to just try a new place with a terrace and window.

| When you are in New Orleans, does it really matter where you stay? Just be glad you are there! Very nice staff and clean rooms, and most importantly, 3 minutes walk to the French Quarter. Great value, would definitely stay there again.
