Features
What to expect: The sunken marble lobby doubles as an informal meeting place for guests who have business with the law firm next door, or at the Washington Convention Center five blocks away. Leisure travelers appreciate the hotel’s four-block proximity to the monuments and museums on the Mall, and the Shops at National Place.
Amenity highlights: The fitness center has five exercycles, four treadmills, three stair machines, free weights, saunas, and a VCR for guests who bring their own exercise tapes. The spa tub overlooks the indoor splash pool, which is surrounded by potted plants and lounge chairs.
Insider tip: For guests on a budget, the Mall four blocks south of the hotel is a goldmine. All along the mile-long plaza are some of the nation’s best-known museums and monuments, none of which charge admission.
Regatta Raw Bar - Seafood, raw and cooked, is the main attraction in this paneled restaurant serving lunch and dinner. A narrow rowboat and six oars hang above the wooden bar in the center of this restaurant that overlooks 12th Street. Metro Grille - This semi-formal restaurant features traditional American cuisine prepared in an open kitchen. In a room paneled with honey-colored wood, three meals a day are served; breakfast is a buffet. Plaza Stop Cafe - Tucked at the south end of the lobby, this coffee bar sells Starbucks drinks and Krispy Kreme donuts every morning.

| Our flight got us in late and at the last minute (close to the kitchen closing time) we ordered room service. They were not only gracious about it but the food was excellent & beautifully presented. There is a little Starbucks cafe in the lobby and a lovely lunch spot adjacent to the hotel. Great security, and helpful concierge.

| This hotel was half a block from the metro (you can take the metro right from the Reagan Airport for about $1.80) We love the breakfast buffet and that you can walk everywhere, you're right in the heart of the action!

| I loved the location, as the Metro is about 100 feet away (maybe less!), and major tourist attractions are within walking distance. Nice restaurants nearby, catering to both family and couples. While everyone was pleasant, it was more just 'doing their job' than a true concern for your stay. However, all-in-all, the room was quite comfortable and clean, which is most important to me.

| In general, we found the hotel staff to be courteous, conscientious and willing to help. Having booked 2 rooms for a week, we found the front-desk personnel especially helpful in re-assigning one of our rooms so our rooms could be side by side. Also, the conscierge staff was eager and willing to give suggestions as to where to go, what to see, etc. They even helped us secure tickets to a local baseball game and transportation to Baltimore for a concert. Being first-time visitors to D.C., the attention given to these details was most appreciated and certainly helped make our stay a most enjoyable one!

| We have stayed at this hotel several times. We like it because it is within walking distance to the Washington Mall and all the museums. After a day of walking it's great to take a swim and soak in the hot tub. We usually park at a nearby parking lot, as the hotel's valet parking seems always to be full. The lot is cheaper too.

| When I arrived I was told no parking was available with the Hotel. I had to park in public parking which was about two blocks away. The food and service in the hotel restaurants was poor. I had to ask for water, something that should be given with out requesting it. The menu was very limited. Fortunately, outside of the hotel, a few blocks away is China Town where there are many different restaurants to choose from, that are reasonably priced. The air conditioner was not working when we arrived, so I call the operator and no one answered the phone. Finally after three tries I got an answer and the air was fixed within two hours. Even though the service at the hotel was bad the rooms made up for it. The beds were very comfortable, I slept great every night. The location is great too, only about 100 feet from the Metro train and 5 blocks from the White House.

| The hotel's location is very convenient, 1/2 block from the Metro station and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Rooms facing the street can be noisy since the hotel is in the middle of downtown. You can hear your neighbors coming & going since the doors slam very loudly and there is little soundproofing from the hallway. Rooms were nice & clean but beds were so-so. Food in the 2 restaurants was decent but service was spotty. Wireless internet not available in rooms, only in lobby AT A CHARGE. They do have computers, printers & copiers to use free of charge, but you have to pay to use their wired internet access in the room. Gift shop was very convenient and stayed open late.

| This is not a bad hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed and pleasant. The bed was the bomb.Soooo comfortable. I was alone and was meeting friends at a nearby jazz concert. I was not up for eating downstairs at one of thier restaurents so I ordered room service. That's where I had a problem. My meal was promised in 40 minutes and it came in 60 minutes. The room service assistant was nervous and frazzled. Worse, the food was ice cold.It was 6:30pm and had no time to order another. (They promise you a replacement if you are not satisfied.) Other than that, I recommend this hotel if you are a traveling business person or with friends coming to DC for a night on the town. Some of the staff, particularly the front desk persons in the afternoon could have been a little nicer. A bit more charm, perhaps? They had an "it's a job" attitude.
