Located in a great place. Easy access to the highway and all major attractions in San Diego. Rooms were clean and kept clean for the length of our stay (5 days).

We were greeted with friendly staff and they were quite accommodating with our request for early check-in. This is an older resort, but the rooms have been well maintained and the bathroom had been remodeled. Rooms were not large, but everything was clean and neat. The front desk was very helpful in obtaining a cab for us and offered to spray down the room since the only one available for early check-in was a smoking room.

When we checked in the room the phone and the remote control to the T.V. did not work, but maintenance did fix the problem by the next day.

Great location for the beaches (Ocean Beach is the Best) and San Diego. Restaurant good..a little pricey.. but most are in California. Two great pools and hot tub. The grounds were very nice. Not a fancy hotel (which is what I liked about it), and rooms a little small, but fine for two to three people. Would recomend this hotel for people who don't want to spend a bundle.

All staff members were very pleasant and eager to offer assistance. Rooms were cleaned very well each day of our stay, even to the point of hanging up our wet swim suits. Restaurant served delicous food.

The Mission Valley Resort was pretty much exactly as I expected. I found the location convenient but not having a car would be a problem. The hotel may be a bit dated and showing its age but our room was clean and comfortable. The grounds (especially for those of us from cold climates) were very nice and well kept. Most remarkable is how friendly and helpful each staff member we met was! We didn't eat in the restaurant, but Old Town is very near for good restaurant choices. Very short travel times to the zoo/Balboa Park, Old Town, Mission San Diego, and downtown. The pool area was nice too... Only small complaint is the noise from the highway is very noticable and constant!

For the price, I felt the hotel was very pleasant with 2-3 pools plus hot tub and a family restaurant/diner on the premises. In the room the desk was a good size - very convenient for some work projects I had to do. Staff even remembered my name from one day to the next!

When I read the mixed reviews on Expedia for this site, I thought well... I'll give it a chance. I shake my head... Check in was a HUGE challenge. We arrived at the hotel around noon and were expecting to wait a bit, key phreae- a bit. I went to the front desk and notified them that we had caught an earlier flight and asked if we could check-in earlier. The clerk indicated to me that there were no clean rooms due to the fact that they had been totally booked the evening prior to our arrival. However, our room would be ready at 1pm. No problem, or so I thought... LONG story short, after completing a lot of paperwork- including something whacky called pre-check in, a bunch of unanswered walkie talkie calls we to the house keeping staff- got into our room at 6pm. I think this happened when I mentioned to the clerk that we were going to find another hotel for hte evening. Considering I travel a lot, I feel I can honestly indicate to you that the hotel room had the smallest bathroom I have ever been in. The room was very worn with molding loose from the wall in places and paint peeling. The parking was free- an uncommon thing in a large city setting. And while it wasn't close to our room, it wasn't $24 a day. I was disappointed in the service and accomodations. A freind of mine on the trip summed it up well when she said "the word resort is over used". I would recommend that the Mission Valley Resort drop the word from its title.
