| First off, this is not a resort. It is a hotel, and probably the best hotel on the island (at least in the South). My wife and I stayed in a regular ocean front room (not the deluxe "new rooms")at Fort Young for 8-nights in June 2006. Our room was comfortable and clean which was all that we were looking for (plus it had cable TV with several movie stations). The hotel staff is not particularly well informed, however the activities desk can usually answer any questions and make arrangements (although they can be expensive). The food was decent, but not great (but we never realy found great on the island except for Perky's Pizza). There is less fish than you would expect (but a lot of barbaque chicken and ribs). My only real complaint is that the hotel seemed to be hosting a banquet almost every night we were there, which they clearly prioritized over their guests. This resulted in loud noise until late at night and noise in the morning as they were setting up for the day. The deluxe rooms are away from the noise and probably don't have this problem. Overall a good hotel that I would return to, if I return to Dominica.

| Awful rooms except for newest and most expensive wing, major issues with water pressure and temp., uninformed staff, noise. Witnessed the same plate of food sitting out next to the pool for nearly 4 days. Drastically needs new ownership and management!

| Superb service, even altered restaurant menu items to conform to my low fat diet. Nice rooms, good view and within walking distance of town. If I ever go back to Dominica this would be the only place to stay!!

| The Hotel was clean, and the staff was helpful. The main issue I had with the hotel was the room it was outdated and not comfortable. The airconditioner was insufficent and every little noise from the outside was audible from withing the room.

| The hotel is on the edge of Roseau,Dominica's largest city.Shopping is within walking distance, unlike any other accomodations on the island. The rooms are clean, air-conditioned and have a large deck overlooking the carribean sea.The bar is well stocked and has an excellent menu as does the full service restaurant at the hotel. The food is some of the best on the island.Expect very good and friendly service.
