| The location is very good. The hotel is not cheap but the service is just O'K. There is no enough parking for the guests, so we had to park elsewhere. A free continental breakfast served but the personnel do not volunteer this information - you just see people coming from the basement with plates and cups!

| This hotel, though older, was renovated nicely. It was comfortable and affordable as well as within walking distance to downtown. The walk was approximately 1.5 miles so if not inclined to walk, the streetcar and subway was only a few blocks down. A continental breakfast was served daily and really nice. The staff was excellent and assisted with all needs, including transportation, event planning or whatever was needed.

| This hotel is about 125 years old and very charming. Our stay was extremely good. Breakfast was great. Room was modest. Hard to imagine someone being disappointed. Absolutely there is nothing to be disappointed or embarrassed about this place. In North America we need more of this kind of hotels offered. Cheap stuff like veneer plastic fake woods is not classy to me. This building comes under the Heritage act therefore it as to be preserved the way it is. Imperfections are part of the building that makes it authentic. Take moment and enjoy the place. The staff was very accommodating for our needs and request. It is reasonable compared to many other hotels.

| Good hotel, got my moneys worth. It is a little outside the main part of downtown, however, it is about 1/2 a block away from a subway stop, so it is very easy and convenient to get to downtown. They also offer a good free continental breakfast in the morning.

| We didn't expect much and didn't get much. This hotel needs some improvements. The overall decor is old, carpeting and fixtures should be replaced. The room was small, but that was expected, as it is an old house. Nevertheless, it was not as impressive as it could be, if they put some money into it.

| This was the hotel with the best location in our price range. We always stay here. You can't get a better hotel in downtown Toronto for this price.

| Parking is a bit crazy, so you have to pay $13 a night (bring a small car rather than a gas guzzling cow). Wireless internet signal in rooms is strong. Continental breakfast had enough variety.

| The Hotel was reviewed as a historic landmark for a famous writer. They didn't have anything to credit this. We were looking forward to learning about the building. The beautiful building had been covered up by Clarion material. Our room was in the basement with very little space, and smelled very moldy. The bathroom did not have a fan. Later we asked the desk for directions to Greek Town. The gentleman handed us a map and told us he didn't know where it was and hadn't heard fo it. It wasn't that far away and is a large draw in Toronto. Breakfast our first day was stale. Positives. The second day breakfast was excellent. We also appeciated the free paper and the housekeeping staff and hotel staff was very friendly.
