Features
What to expect: Situated at the tip of famed Fremont Street, the hotel attracts a clientele seeking gaming action and entertainment in the traditional setting of downtown Las Vegas—but away from sightseers thronging the Las Vegas Strip, which begins two miles south.

Amenity highlights: Set between the hotel's two towers is a rooftop terrace featuring a 50-by-30-foot swimming pool, four lighted tennis courts (complimentary), private cabanas with televisions (surcharges), and a quarter-mile, artificial-turf jogging track.

Insider tip: The hotel's celebrated Center Stage Restaurant & Lounge has frequently served as a shooting location for movies and television (Casino). Servers recount that history and reel off lists of celebrities who've dined in the restaurant.

Center Stage Restaurant & Lounge - Classic-style fine dining and lounge restaurant; seen in movies such as "Casino" and “Pay it Forward." Glass dome sets scene for vintage Vegas atmosphere overlooking state-of-the-art Fremont Street Experience. Italian chop-house theme; gourmet. Signature items include the 26 oz. Porterhouse, Slow-roasted Prime Rib and Australian Lobster Tail; Veal Saltimbocca, Zuppa di Pesce, and Shrimp Biaggio. Dessert selections include the signature chocolate dome and tiramisu. Cocktail specialties include key lime martinis and passionfruit cosmos. Early dining specials; bar menu. Live music.

Plaza Express breakfast buffet - Open daily (mornings).

Chop Chop Chinese Buffet - Asian buffet.

Seattle's Best Coffee - Coffee drinks, sandwiches, pastries. Internet access (surcharge).

The hotel's food court includes McDonalds, Subway, Noble Roman Pizza, Sabrette hot dogs, and Dreyer's ice cream.

The hotel's 80,000-square-foot casino offers slots, video-poker, blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat, and pai gow poker, and includes a keno lounge, a poker room, and a race-and-sports book. A 400-seat bingo parlor offers eight sessions daily, and complimentary membership cards are available for the casino's players club, which offers cash, comps, and other rewards for play.

Curtis Adams’ newest creation, Adrenaline makes its Las Vegas premiere at this hotel, September 24, 2005. Curtis Adams features a show with comedy, cutting-edge dance, and state-of-the-art visual effects.

The Comedy Zone features local and national comedians six nights weekly. Omaha Lounge in the casino offers live music daily (one-drink minimum).

Directly in front of the hotel under a canopy of 2.1 million lights, and employing a 540,000-watt sound system, a four-block pedestrians-only stretch of downtown Las Vegas called Fremont Street Experience presents periodic sound-and-light shows from dusk to midnight. Other day-and-night entertainment on the street includes live music, classic-car displays, and holiday festivals.

Husband and wife team, Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna, bring their Broadway comedy hit, If You Ever Leave Me ... I’m Going With You, to the Plaza Showroom. Performances for this limited engagement, presented by Scott Stander, begin August 19, 2005 and will end September 11, 2005. The comedy covers the couple’s romantic courtship, their first wedding reception on the “Merv Griffin Show,” their six marriage ceremonies, and the near “spouse-icides” as a result of four decades of professional collaboration. The show is a hilarious collage of monologues, stand-up, television and movie clips; home movies, and scenes from their semi-autobiographical Broadway and Off-Broadway hits and film comedies.

Very Dissapointed with the condition of the hotel. Very much needs updated. Also, we woke up to a strong chemical smell burning our throats (as well as my parents in the room next door) to find out someone was cleaning the carpets at 3am and must of not mixed the chemicals correctly or something. We notified management but were not offered anything to compensate us for the problem. Cheap but would definately pay more to stay in a nicer place.

Wonderful trip. We stayed for 5 days at a great price and were comped well for our play. The poker tourneys were run very well and everyone was friendly. Can't wait to go back.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was horrible. The toilet was leaking, the water wouldn't get hot and a lamp was broken. When we complained about these things, they did not even offer to move us to another room. They just sent someone up to "fix" everything which they didn't do. If you want a nice place I would suggest staying away from this hotel.

We have stayed here many times, but no more. Where did the great coupons go? This hotel needs some major updating. Tubs slow to drain, mold on bathroom walls. The bed, however was quite comfortable.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of Dec. 2005. Planned our travel late in the holiday season so to stay in budget we booked our stay and airplane tickets as a combo through Expedia. On our first day, we were told they had reserved a nonsmoking room for us. But when we arrived they only had smoking rooms and they refused to help us change rooms in the later days. Since day two, we were not allowed to even open the windows because of "newly discovered" saftey concerns. (We was able to open them on our first day of stay. No one told us there were any issues.) The carpet and chairs were dotted with cigar burns. The toilet tank filled up so slowly that you could hear water running for a long time at night. Our "room" was connected to our neighbor's room through a wooden door, so we could hear their talk, TV and ... For two mornings in a row, when we used the shower around 9 am, there was not enough hot water. The bathroom was so small, there was no room for a small trash can even. The people at the front desk had a very tired and cold look, as if they hated to be there. We certainly do not want to be in that hotel again. It is cheap but you do have to suffer quite a bit. Don't be fooled by the highrise picture. It is a tall building but old and lacks of basic maintainence. I could not believe it was rated 3 star. What we exprienced really ruined our vacation mood...

I wasn't sure whether to book rooms at this hotel or not especially based on the negative reviews, but my sister and I were pleasantly surprised by everything. We knew that it would be an older hotel and near the railroad tracks, but it is also a much larger room and despite the older carpeting, and was clean. We were on the tenth floor in the North Tower and brought earplugs just in case. We had no problem with the noise at all. The windows adequately muffled sounds and the bathtub drained just fine. The shower was good and hot. There were no strange smells. The beds were fine and we had a good night sleep. Access to Fremont was excellent and also driving to the strip. Just make sure you park in the indoor garage and not the outdoor one. It gets too hot. There is free parking by validating your ticket at the cashiers window. It was a great trip!

Extremely disappointing. The window was broken and could not be closed all the way. The common door between our room and the room next to ours could not be secured. The room appears to not have been updated for a long time. The t.v. had a very poor picture.

We stayed 3 nights at the Plaza hotel in downtown. It was a good hotel and casino to stay at if you want to be downtown. This was my second time in Vegas and I would much rather stay on the strip (more action). This is coming from a 22 year old college kid though. Overall though the hotel was clean and the location for downtown was great. Staff was friendly and willing to help. Good comedy club also.
