Features
What to expect: The hotel, originally designed by architect Morris Lapidus, was renovated in 2003 under the direction of Scott Sanders. The hotel's lobby belies its space-age exterior. Antique reproductions flank a small gas fireplace beyond the front desk, and columns decked with gilt sconces break up the long room. Located five blocks from the U.S. Capitol, the Skyline is popular with leisure travelers and corporate travelers who have business on the Hill. Amenity highlights: The hotel has a seasonal outdoor lap pool, patio, and poolside bar. Guests receive complimentary access to Results, a health club a mile away. The hotel also offers 6,500 square feet of meeting space and business services. Insider tip: On weekends, Washingtonians head to Eastern Market, 12 blocks from the hotel. Outside the brick building, vendors line the sidewalk, selling produce, antiques, and crafts. Inside, Market Lunch serves a hearty breakfast. Across Seventh Street from the market are a number of boutiques and restaurants.
Skyline Diner - The hotel’s owners have restored this diner to its original early-1960s glory, with brown vinyl banquettes, wooden Venetian blinds, and milky-white globe chandeliers. American breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at tables or a U-shaped counter. 19th Green Lounge - Open from late afternoon to late evening, the lounge serves appetizers and dinner. The golf theme runs right up to the ceiling, with emerald putting greens overhead. In the summer, the lounge’s patio opens up, and guests can order grilled dishes from the barbecue.

| The rooms and lobby are larger and better equiped than similarly rated Best Western hotels that I've stayed at. There is an outdoor pool and indoor parking. Mapquest completely misplaced the hotel. I suggest calling the desk for directions.

| Stayed here for one night, the building looks really unwelcoming from the outside, but once you go inside you will appreciate the clean floors and classy furniture. The staff is very helpful, the neighborhood is a bit surprising sice the hotel is about a mile away from the US Capitol, but you will not find many nice places immediately around. The Metro station is close, but don't walk there at night.

| I was a little weary of the hotel by the way the outside of the building looked, but you should never judge a book by it's cover! The inside is very nice and the room was great. After reading some other bad reviews about the same hotel I wasn't sure about how I felt about staying there, but I was wonderfully surprised. The pool is great as well! I definetly recommend!

| The hotel was good - friendly service and clean at an affordable rate. Its is about 3 blocks from the Navy Yard Metro stop and 1 mile from the Mall and U.S. Capital. However the area around the hotel is a little run down and rough. This is probably not a big deal if you are driving or cabbing it. The hotel has indoor parking (for a fee) and a free shuttle to downtown DC. Also a nice outdoor pool.

| The location is 1 mile from capital & only a 3 block walk to Metro train stop & also has a nice pool. However, the hotel is a very bad neighborhood. The hotel offers a free shuttle to some of the sights, however, I wouldn't use the hotel again. You can find a comprable hotelin other parts of D.C.

| The room that we (2 persons) stayed in seemed quite small. We had four suitcases with us (3 large, 1 medium) and had little room to move about with them in the room. The room was clean and the room service was good. Overall, our stay was satisfactory.

| Very noisy. Lots of sirens at night. Good enough quality for the price. Provided free shuttle into DC but not a return service. Hotel staff was great however and very accomodating.

| This hotel is not in a good location. There were homeless people hanging around the neighborhood. We did not want to be out after dark.
