Features
What to expect: Swing doors lead into a large reception area with black marble and carpeted floors, walnut-paneled walls and glass chandeliers. Leather sofas in the lounge and Conference Bar along with quayside views offer the ideal meeting place for both business people and leisure visitors.

Amenity highlights: The hotel’s three restaurants offer everything from pizza and carvery lunches to first-class French dining, whilst the swimming pool and leisure facilities give the chance to work off a few calories.

Insider tip: At the Museum in Docklands, just a five-minute walk away, visitors can explore the story of London’s river, port and people from Roman settlement to the recent regeneration and development.

Crompton’s French Restaurant - Located just off the main lobby is a lounge for executive guests, with oak furniture, gilt framed prints, and sofas leading into the restaurant itself. This has small clothed tables each with an individual light overhead with a pink fringed shade, flowery wallpaper, and framed French prints, giving a feeling of intimacy and enhancing the French theme. There is a table d’hôte or à la carte menu serving gourmet French dishes from garlic mushrooms to fillet steaks and fish, plus a selection of vintage wines.

Jenny’s Carvery Restaurant - This large, bright restaurant is decorated in white and pale green, with large windows looking over the Old Jamaican Sugar Docks. With seating for up to 200 diners, this is a self-service restaurant offering a carvery, cold meats and fish, a selection of vegetables and salads, fresh fruit, and several desserts.

The Overstuffed Pizzeria Restaurant - Tiled floors and street access give extra light and an informal atmosphere to this low-key restaurant. Pizza and pasta are on offer along with sandwiches and snacks.

The Conservatory Bar - Just off the reception area, this bar has a large split-level seating area with cherrywood and oak tables, tub chairs, and leather sofas alongside black and brass figurine lamps and a carved oak bar behind a black ironwork gate. Guests can relax in the intimacy of the upper carpeted level or on wooden floored lower level with large windows looking out across the quay.

Fridays Bar - With both street and hotel access, this is a typically British pub with tables and chairs, leather sofas, and oak bar, as well as a bar for late-night dancing and parties. As well as drinks, sandwiches and snacks are also served here and several big screen televisions with cable channels screen top sporting events.

It was an ok hotel to spend the night at, but when its classified as a four star hotel and you are paying over big bucks a night, you'd expect more. Our key cards rarely worked, we always needed assistance to get our doors open, the hot water also rarely worked, and our t.v. gave out half way through, as well as the internet service. You'd expect these things from a one or two star hotel, but not a four. But it was nice to have a clean room to go to every night...just don't expect more than that.

This hotel was very nice and quaint. Our room was very hot as the air conditioner was preset at 27 celcius (over 80f). Maintenance had left so they couldn't adjust it. They did open a window but it didn't help. The towels were very big and soft but they didn't offer any wash cloths. Bring your own.

The hotel was alright. My trip was primarily for business so I needed wireless internet access. Unfortunately the internet access was often too slow to do any kind of meaningful work. They changed my room for better internet access but that didn't help much. The pizza I ordered for room service tasted like cardboard. But there are good restaurants nearby so that wasn't much of a problem. Other than that it was fine.

Close to Canary Wharf tube station (on the Jubilee line - which was very convenient). Room was spacious. Bathroom was large with an excellent shower head (read: good water pressure and high enough up for my six foot husband). Bed was uncomfortable, but that's pretty common for Europe. Bit of an issue with the wireless Internet in the lobby. Not all laptops work with their set-up. If your computer does not work, do not expect any kind of tech support from the staff.

This is a nice hotel and because of location it is less expensive than the center of downtown. It is only a 15 minute Tube ride on the Jubilee line to the heart of London. Being at the center of Canary Wharf, there are many good restaurants close by. They are making the transition from winter heating to spring/summer ventilation/temp control, so some parts of the hotel are hot while others are cold. This is probably a passing phase.

The pictures make everything look bigger, but the rooms were a good size for a European room. The air conditioning doesn't get cool but if you open the window you can get fresh air. The people are so nice there. They were very helpful. We only ate at the pizzeria place, and did not like it. For the price of one person, two of you can eat at the canary wharf mall which is about ten minutes walking distance. If you love to shop, this hotel is close to about three big malls, all walking distance. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were pretty big. I would stay here again. I also recommend it. Oh and if you are traveling from the US, make sure you take an adaptor for their plugs. We looked everywhere and couldn't find one.
