Located on the University of Maryland University College campus, this five-story hotel offers modern amenities in a Colonial-inspired building filled with an impressive collection of artworks by Maryland artists. It features 237 guestrooms distributed between two wings, along with two restaurants, a club-like lounge, and a fitness center with cardiovascular equipment. The hotel caters especially to conferences, social gatherings, and other groups. Function space totaling 39,000 square feet includes a 750-seat auditorium, a ballroom with space for up to 1,500, and 27 smaller meeting rooms. A business center has a computer with complimentary high-speed Internet access, and complimentary wireless access is available in all public areas (network cards not provided). Other complimentary amenities include use of campus athletic facilities and shuttle service to the College Park and Prince George’s Plaza Metro stations. On-site parking is $6 per day (price subject to change).

An on-site exercise room has a stair stepper, treadmill, and exercise bike. Guests also have access to the recreational amenities on the surrounding campus, which include a running track, Olympic-sized swimming pool, and racquetball courts. The hotel is less than one-half mile from Northwest Branch Park, a preserved area with a hiking/biking trail. At least 10 public golf courses are within 10 miles. | New hotel in renovated UMD building. Rooms pretty small. Staff still at the low end of the learning curve. But the place, escpecially with the loaction and low rates, has a lot of potential.
